Bac Ninh: Launching the program "Humanitarian Power" in 2025

BAC NINH - On the morning of November 19, at the hall of the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa commune, the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and accompanying units to launch the program "Humanitarian Strength" in 2025. This is a practical activity on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society on November 23 (1946 - 2025).

Attending the program were comrades: Lam Thi Huong Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nhan Chinh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society.

Launching the program, Comrade Le Thi Duyen, President of the Bac Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society, emphasized that the humanitarian tradition of the Vietnamese people has been nurtured over thousands of years of history, creating sustainable values ​​that have been preserved and promoted by generations. In Bac Ninh, the humanitarian movement continues to develop extensively thanks to the attention and direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society ; the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the support of organizations, businesses and people.

Every year, the Red Cross chapters at all levels in the province carry out humanitarian activities with a total value of more than 100 billion VND, assisting about 97 thousand disadvantaged people. Major programs such as "Humanitarian Tet", "Humanitarian Month", the campaign "Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address" ... are maintained regularly with an increasingly large scale. Many sustainable models continue to spread positively in the area such as "Cow Bank", "Humanitarian Porridge Pot", "Nutrition for Disabled Children", "Helping Children Go to School".

At the same time, the core and coordinating role of the Red Cross at all levels is increasingly evident in emergency relief activities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the whole province mobilized more than 56 billion VND to support frontline forces and people. After storm No. 3 in 2024, the association allocated more than 29 billion VND in relief goods to help people in flooded areas stabilize their lives. In 2025 alone, after storms No. 10 and 11, the association received and allocated more than 16 billion VND to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

In this year's "Humanitarian Power" program, the total value of humanitarian resources directly awarded at the launching ceremony reached 720 million VND. Of which, 13 breeding cows (total value 234 million VND) were given to poor households in Hiep Hoa, Hoang Van, Xuan Cam communes; 21 extremely disadvantaged households received monthly support (total value 42 million VND); 30 poor households affected by storms and floods in Hiep Hoa commune received gifts (worth more than 1 million VND/gift). In addition, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross also allocated many types of goods worth more than 400 million VND to support the lives of disadvantaged people in Bac Ninh province.

Comrades Nguyen Nhan Chinh and Le Thi Duyen presented monthly support funds to families in difficult circumstances.

The 2025 “Humanitarian Power” program will be implemented until February 10, 2026. The Provincial Red Cross Society calls for the cooperation of organizations, businesses, and charitable individuals inside and outside the province through direct support at the association’s headquarters (10th floor, building B, Provincial Inter-Agency headquarters) or transfer to the association’s Humanitarian Fund (account number 2501201007900 at Agribank, Bac Giang II branch) to support poor households and vulnerable groups in the community.
