National Steering Committee 389 deploys tasks for the last 6 months of the year

On the morning of August 8, the National Steering Committee 389 held a national online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Comrade Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee 389 chaired the conference. Attending the conference at the Ha Nam bridge were members of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, representatives of the Provincial People's Committee Office, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 Support Team.

According to the assessment report of the National Steering Committee 389, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Steering Committees 389 of ministries, branches, provinces and cities have done a good job of leading, directing, thoroughly grasping, and requesting units and forces to seriously implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the National Steering Committee 389 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Many major violations were detected, arrested, and handled according to the law; no hot spots of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods emerged; propaganda against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods was promoted... Thereby, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting the legitimate rights of consumers, legitimate production and business enterprises, ensuring security and order, and promoting socio -economic development. In the first 6 months of 2024, functional forces nationwide detected and handled 64,185 violations (down 2.82% compared to the same period in 2023), collecting VND 6,066,792 billion for the State budget. Of which, 650 cases were criminally prosecuted (down 44.25% compared to the same period in 2023). Among the detected and handled violations, there were 6,042 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods; 55,133 cases of trade fraud, tax fraud; 3,010 cases of counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations.

At the conference, members of the National Steering Committee 389, Steering Committee 389 of provinces and cities discussed and clarified many important contents in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in various fields and localities in the first 6 months of the year, such as: Anti-smuggling work in the field of management of import and export goods, luggage, passengers, means of entry and exit, transit; state management work, prevention of taking advantage of information networks, communications, postal services to buy, sell, transport prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods violating intellectual property rights; current situation, difficulties in fighting and preventing activities of taking advantage of e-commerce to trade in prohibited goods, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, etc.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee 389, acknowledged the efforts of the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the past time. Deploying tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the directions of the Government, Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; continue to review and propose solutions to difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; proactively develop programs, plans and solutions to fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the local situation; Focusing especially on combating and effectively preventing the illegal trading and transportation of drugs, firecrackers, wildlife, smuggling, illegal transportation of cigarettes, gasoline, sugar, sand, gold, foreign currency; promoting the application of digital technology in inspection and handling of violations. The Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 received and fully synthesized the opinions and recommendations of delegates at the conference, thereby issuing a plan for the peak of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025...
