This season, Binh Luc district planted 7,700 hectares (the largest area in the province), with 50% of the early-season rice. Based on the actual land, communes and towns planned production areas according to rice varieties and tea, choosing appropriate planting methods for each field such as: direct sowing, machine planting and manual planting. In particular, focusing on arranging the ratio of early-season rice tea according to the characteristics of the land and the correct ratio according to the plan. Water collection and land preparation were carried out immediately in the spring rice areas that had been harvested. Along with that, agricultural service cooperatives (HTXDVNN) increased the implementation of agreed services: supplying seeds, fertilizer materials, etc.
For localities with machine-planted rice areas, agricultural service cooperatives have signed contracts with units providing tray-planting and machine-planting services. Currently, the district is maintaining cooperatives and service groups providing tray-planting and machine-planting services in some localities, such as: An Do, Dong Du, Binh Nghia...
According to Mr. Do The Trong, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Luc district, localities in the district are speeding up preparations for the 2025 winter-spring crop. Over 90% of the district's spring rice area has been harvested, facilitating water collection, land preparation, and sowing of rice seedlings. After June 20, localities in the district will begin to sow winter-spring rice in the fields to ensure the correct crop schedule.
Along with Binh Luc, other localities in the province are also actively preparing for the crop production. Currently, Kim Bang town has basically completed the spring rice harvest, other localities have harvested from 70 to more than 90% of the area. The land has been cleared, the stages from water collection, soil preparation, sowing (including medicinal seedlings, hard-ground seedlings and tray seedlings) are being implemented very urgently. The area of sown seedlings alone has reached over 70% of the quantity.
This crop, Tan Phong Service and Trade Cooperative, Tan Thanh Town (Thanh Liem) provided machine planting services for 216 hectares of rice for a number of agricultural cooperatives in Thanh Liem and Ly Nhan districts. To prepare for production, the Cooperative imported 6 tons of various types of rice seeds and nearly 200 tons of tray planting substrate. 2 tray planting machines and 5 large-sized transplanters were maintained and repaired to ensure service capacity. Currently, Tan Phong Service and Trade Cooperative has completed nearly 50,000 trays of seedlings to meet the contracted rice planting area.
Mr. Le Van Luan, Director of Tan Phong Service and Trade Cooperative, said: To ensure the correct planting area and time as signed, the preparation stage was carried out early by the Cooperative. The tray seedlings were sown in each tea at each time, ensuring the continuous operation of the transplanter. It is expected that around June 26, the first unit in Ly Nhan district will be planted in the field.
This year's winter-spring rice crop, the whole province planted nearly 26,400 hectares, with a yield of 55.8 quintals/ha. Regarding the crop structure, early-season rice accounts for 50% of the area, mid-season rice accounts for 47% of the area, and late-season rice accounts for 3%. Regarding the variety structure, localities select and arrange to plant 3-5 main varieties in the province's variety set, ensuring high yield, good quality, resistance to leaf blight and lodging... Rice varieties planted in model fields and concentrated production areas are suitable for the purchasing and processing needs of businesses and the consumer market. In the general variety structure, the proportion of pure quality rice accounts for 55%, high-yield pure rice accounts for 25%, and hybrid rice remains stable at 20%.
To facilitate the production of the 2025 winter-spring rice crop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has developed a production plan suitable to actual conditions; in which, it arranges a seasonal schedule for each rice crop, striving to complete the early winter-spring rice crop before July 2; by July 10, the entire area will be sown. Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry (Department of Agriculture and Environment) assessed: This year's winter-spring crop production is affected by the spring rice crop (about 7 days late as expected), so the preparation time is very short, only about 10 - 15 days from spring rice harvest to winter-spring rice planting. Currently, localities and agricultural service cooperatives in the province are focusing on effectively implementing the preparation stages for the winter-spring crop (water collection, land preparation, and sowing are almost carried out at the same time).
The agricultural sector actively inspects and urges to ensure that the planting and planting is on schedule. Preparations for the winter-spring crop production in localities in the province are basically proceeding smoothly. The planting and planting are carried out in a concentrated manner with many measures from direct sowing, machine planting, manual planting and applying manual planting according to the border effect. The whole province strives to ensure that the winter-spring rice fields are planted according to the crop schedule, aiming for a successful production season, while creating conditions for the next winter-spring crop.
