New tourism identity

Seeing the crowds flocking to Khe Coc Island (part of the Trang An scenic complex) to participate in the Trang An Music and Creativity Festival 2025, many exclaimed: Ninh Binh has truly succeeded in shaping a "contemporary tourism identity" rich in creativity, alongside preserving and promoting its inherent traditional values.

In fact, Ninh Binh's success in promoting local culture and tourism is easily understandable because instead of organizing a purely entertainment festival, Forestival 2025 focuses on two strategic pillars: culture and art, and the environment. Forestival 2025 was elaborate, spectacular, and very well-organized, combining modern music , visual arts, and community creativity. Many famous artists and contemporary art performance groups were invited to participate – creating a colorful and incredibly captivating musical feast.

Visit Ninh Binh to experience unique artistic spaces amidst beautiful and majestic nature. Experts believe this is a direction that aligns with global tourism trends, as tourists increasingly seek profound experiences connected to culture and ecological values.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Son, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, shared that Ninh Binh is an ancient land with diverse natural and cultural resources set against a backdrop of unique landscapes, embodying the rich history and culture of humanity and Vietnam, and was once a capital city. Based on these advantages, the province has strongly embraced the "non-polluting industry" (tourism) to become an attractive destination, a source of inspiration, and an opportunity for the province to flourish and develop. Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, added that Ninh Binh has effectively exploited its unique cultural heritage and beautiful natural landscapes to develop tourism.

In fact, in recent times, several other localities have also chosen this direction, using cultural and natural identity as a foundation for sustainable tourism development. For example, Hoi An (Quang Nam province) has restored the rural village atmosphere combined with community-based ecotourism in Tra Que and Cam Thanh... Or An Giang province is exploiting the advantages of the Bay Nui region, developing spiritual and ecological tourism, combining traditional festivals and experiencing the natural beauty of the riverine landscape.

Meanwhile, Ha Giang, with its tourism model linked to cultural identity in Dong Van and Meo Vac, offers many incredibly interesting experiences for tourists. Many houses of the Mong, Lo Lo, and Tay ethnic minorities have been renovated into homestays to welcome visitors from afar. Simple, rustic meals with rich highland flavors, traditional flute dances, brocade costumes... All of these become a special charm for tourists when they set foot here.

These approaches demonstrate that when localities combine heritage, cultural identity, and available resources, they not only attract tourists but also awaken pride and participation among the local community. The methods employed by Ninh Binh, Hoi An (Quang Nam province), and Ha Giang... are all exemplary models for other localities to emulate. However, the challenge is that each province needs to develop its own strategy, avoiding product duplication to create differentiation and ensure that tourists' exploration journeys remain fresh and captivating.
