Artist Tuyet Mai's voice in the Victory News on April 30, 1975 will resound again in the art program "Triumph Song" on the stage of the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of April 25.
The opening part of the program, titled "Hanoi hears the news of victory" , recreates April 30, 1975 in Hanoi, with the moment the news broke.
In the documentary video , artist Tuyet Mai raised her voice to read the familiar phrase "This is the voice of Vietnam, broadcasting from Hanoi, capital of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam".
The news summarized the situation in Saigon at that time: "Faced with the overwhelming attack of our army and people, the enemy was forced to lay down their weapons and surrender unconditionally. The liberation army quickly occupied command posts, military bases, offices, and important positions in the city."
According to the memoirs of announcer Tran Phuong, Ms. Tuyet Mai recorded the news at nearly 5 p.m. At that time, he was in the middle of recording the commentary "The whole country embraces the golden-named Ho Chi Minh City". She walked in, a special bulletin in her hand.
People's Artist Tuyet Mai was once a "golden voice" on the radio. Writer To Hoai once commented: "The Voice of Vietnam needs to have standards in pronunciation. There is a voice that has reached the standard level that I recognize, and that is Ms. Tuyet Mai's voice."
In addition, the Organizing Committee showed the news of Saigon Liberation Television, broadcast on the evening of May 1, announcer Ho My Hanh, with the content: "This is Saigon Liberation Television, broadcasting from Saigon, greetings to our beloved compatriots. From this historic and emotional moment, at 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, our heroic and glorious city has been liberated."
During the concert, the artists will perform some pre-1975 songs such as "Mother loves child" (Nguyen Van Ty), "Liberate the South" (Luu Huu Phuoc). The Oplus group will sing "The storm has arisen" by Trong Bang. He composed the song during the 1968 Tet Mau Than campaign, when he witnessed the momentum of the Southern army and people's offensive. The musician wrote it in just one hour, then sent it to Voice of Vietnam for recording.
Part two, titled "Marching to Saigon," recreates the fighting atmosphere in the South on the day of reunification, and part three, "Unified Country," tells the story of the 50-year journey of nation building after the day of peace.
In addition to the musical performance, historical witnesses, veterans, artists, and senior journalists who witnessed April 30, 1975 will participate in the program, sharing with the next generation.
