Miss Global 2025 organizers apologize for clip with "cow tongue line"

At the Miss Global 2025 Finals held on the evening of March 9 in Thailand, the Organizing Committee angered Vietnamese audiences by showing a clip containing images that violated Vietnam's territorial sovereignty (the nine-dash line). On the morning of March 10, the Organizing Committee of the contest apologized.

The apology was posted on the contest's fanpage with the content: "We sincerely apologize for any offensive behavior caused by the graphic images shared during the final night. We never intended to distort or belittle Vietnam's territorial sovereignty or sensitive issues surrounding Vietnam's border and territorial issues. In the coming time, we will ensure that the content released to the public will be carefully reviewed to avoid unwanted misunderstandings."

The joy of Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van winning Miss was not complete when Vietnamese audiences were very upset and demanded a boycott of the contest because of the clip containing the "cow tongue line".

The Miss Global 2025 final has more than 60 beauties from countries and territories around the world . Candidates go through the performance rounds: bikini, evening gown, presentation.

In the end, the crown was awarded to beauty Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van from Vietnam. The titles of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th runner-up were awarded to beauties from Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the US and the Philippines, respectively.

Miss Global is introduced by the Organizing Committee as a contest that promotes feminism and honors cultures. The contest is for beauties aged 18 to 35.

Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van was born in 1991, from Lam Dong . She is 1.74m tall, with measurements of 90-63-91. She is a professional model, having won 1st runner-up in The New Mentor 2023 (All-round Model) contest. In addition, she was a catwalk coach in the Miss Vietnam, Miss World Vietnam, Miss National Vietnam contests...

Before Nhu Van, Doan Thu Thuy won the title of 4th Runner-up of Miss Global 2023.
