Strengthening “soft power” in combating human trafficking, being wary of “easy work, high salary”

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions recommends stepping up propaganda work on preventing and combating human trafficking, especially domestically, and human trafficking in the form of fraudulently sending people to work as "light laborers with high salaries."

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the Department of Home Affairs of provinces and cities across the country and the departments and units under the ministry, requesting to step up the implementation of activities in response to " World Day against Trafficking in Persons" and "National Day against Trafficking in Persons July 30" in 2025.

The peak of the response activities is from July 1 to September 30, with the theme "Human trafficking is an organized crime - Stop the exploitation."

According to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the activities in response to the above days are organized to mobilize the combined strength of the political system and all classes of people; promote the core role of the People's Public Security force and strengthen coordination between ministries, branches and localities to effectively organize and implement the prevention and combat of human trafficking in ethnic minority, mountainous and border areas.

This is also an opportunity for localities across the country to step up propaganda work on preventing and combating human trafficking, especially domestically, human trafficking in the form of fraudulently sending workers to work abroad, "easy work, high salary"; strengthen the work of grasping the situation, fighting and suppressing crimes, especially crimes of trafficking in people under 16 years old.

In that spirit, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions requests the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the Department of Home Affairs of provinces and cities with Ethnic Minorities and Religions Committees or Religious Affairs Offices to proactively advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities to deploy activities in response to "World Day against Human Trafficking" and "National Day against Human Trafficking July 30" with contents suitable for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the area; ensuring that no complications arise in security, order, and social safety in villages, hamlets, hamlets, and villages where many ethnic minorities live.

The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and the Department of Home Affairs of provinces and cities coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to unify the contents of propaganda and mobilization for ethnic minorities to respond to the above days; promote the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities, focus on propaganda and mobilization work, and take prestigious people as the core force to effectively prevent and combat human trafficking.

The leaders of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions also requested that departments and units under the ministry integrate propaganda content on preventing and combating human trafficking into their activities; especially adding and integrating propaganda content on Party and State documents into training classes and seminars on ethnic affairs according to the plan being implemented, considering this as a content to be implemented in training classes at the grassroots level.

The Ethnic Minority Academy and schools under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions organize propaganda activities to prevent and combat human trafficking for officials, teachers, union members, students, and pupils, focusing on propaganda to raise awareness of sophisticated tricks of human trafficking crimes in cyberspace.

On that basis, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions requests that the units organize and implement seriously, effectively and economically and send reports to the Ministry (through the Department of Propaganda of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and via email: vutuyentruyenctdttg@cema.gov.vn) before October 15, 2025 for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister./.
