Ensuring safe and stable power supply

The power project put into operation contributes to ensuring electricity for production, business and daily life in the province.

Minimize the risk of electrical failure

The leader of Binh Duong Power Company (PCBD) said that since the beginning of the year, the demand for electricity in the province has increased, especially electricity for industrial production; power grid incidents have decreased, and online electricity service indicators have achieved positive results. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the province's industrial production index in the first 4 months of 2025 increased by 9%, which shows that the demand for electricity in production activities has increased significantly. In addition, due to the hot weather, the demand for electricity in people's daily life has increased.

According to Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 4 months of 2025, the electricity sector ensured continuous electricity supply to serve the electricity needs in daily life and production of businesses and people in the province. In addition, PCBD has proactively implemented a plan to provide stable and continuous electricity; power grid incidents have decreased sharply compared to the same period in 2024; electricity supply reliability indicators (SAIDI, SAIFI) have increased compared to the same period in 2024.

To minimize the risk of local grid overload, incidents that may occur during the changing seasons, and improve the reliability of the power system, agencies, offices, businesses, and people are advised to thoroughly apply power grid saving and safety solutions, such as: Turning off unused devices, using high-efficiency electrical equipment, setting the air conditioner temperature above 26 degrees, and changing the habit of limiting the use of electrical equipment when not needed. These solutions not only help customers reduce electricity costs, contribute to reducing the pressure on the power supply to the entire system, but also minimize the risk of power incidents, helping to operate the power system stably, safely, and effectively.

Putting into operation many power projects

On the occasion of the recent April 30 holiday, Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) officially completed 50 110kV power grid projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, and 50 years of building and developing EVNSPC (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Putting into operation power grid projects, specifically Kien Dien Transformer Station (An Dien Ward, Ben Cat City), installing transformer T2 with a capacity of 63MVA, increasing the station capacity to 2x63MVA, with a total investment of more than 36.5 billion VND, helps reduce the load on transformer T1 at Ascendas 110kV Substation (Kien Dien), reduce the load on the existing An Tay 110kV Substation, ensure safe and continuous power supply, and improve the operational reliability of N-1. At the same time, the project ensures the ability to connect the 22kV loop between Ascendas 110kV Substation (Kien Dien) and the existing An Tay 110kV Substation, creating conditions to support power supply between the 22kV lines of the 110kV Substations in case of equipment maintenance and repair. The project also prepares for load development in industrial parks such as Protrade International, Viet Huong 2, along current and future DT744 road.

For the project to upgrade the 110kV Thuan An - VSIP II line into 2 circuits, with a length of 2.42km with a total investment of more than 29.9 billion VND, it contributes to improving the capacity of transmitting power on the existing 110kV line, meeting the load demand of the area; strengthening the loop connection between the 220kV Binh Hoa substation and the 220kV Thuan An substation, increasing the reliability of power supply for 110kV substations in the area, ensuring operation according to N-1 standards. Meanwhile, the 110kV Thoi An substation project upgrades the T2 transformer (1x63 MVA), with a total investment of more than 37 billion VND, ensuring power supply for the Ben Cat city area.

Mr. Tu Minh Viet, Deputy Director of the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board, said that putting the upgraded 110kV Thoi An substation into operation with the addition of the T2 transformer will help reduce the load on the existing 110kV Thoi An substation, meeting the load demand and N-1 criteria for the My Phuoc 1, 2, 3, 4 Industrial Parks as well as the Thoi Hoa urban area. The project also defines the connection of the 22kV grid with the existing 110kV Thoi An, My Hoa and Ben Cat substations, contributing to supporting the supply of electricity between the 22kV lines when equipment maintenance or repair is needed; ensuring a stable power source for customers, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province.

EVNSPC's completion of 50 110kV power grid projects on the occasion of the April 30 holiday symbolizes EVNSPC's 50-year journey accompanying the development of the South, while continuing to affirm EVNSPC's core role in carrying out the mission of "Electricity goes one step ahead" to serve socio-economic development and people's lives in 21 southern provinces and cities, including Binh Duong province.
