Ensuring traffic order and safety on April 30 and May 1, peak summer tourism season 2025

On April 17, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 39/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety to serve people's travel needs during the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak summer tourism season in 2025.

The dispatch stated: In the first quarter of 2025, with the drastic direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, and the active participation of ministries, branches and localities, the traffic order and safety situation continued to improve.

Traffic accidents were reduced in all three criteria, traffic congestion was controlled. The Prime Minister highly appreciated ministries, branches and localities for proactively making plans to ensure traffic safety during the year and peak seasons, implementing according to assigned functions and tasks.

During the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourist season in 2025, it is forecasted that travel and transportation demand will increase, creating greater pressure on traffic safety and order, potentially leading to higher risks of traffic accidents and traffic congestion.

To ensure traffic safety and order, facilitating people's travel during the April 30 - May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourism season in 2025, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to proactively follow the actual situation, urge and supervise the best implementation of traffic safety and order activities according to the functions, tasks and plans of each ministry, branch and locality during the peak holiday season of April 30 - May 1 and the peak summer tourism season in 2025.

Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities direct agencies, units and functional forces to review local plans, ensuring adherence to plans and directions of central ministries and branches; assign specific units to implement; focus on managing and controlling common violations during holidays, routes, areas and times with high risk of traffic accidents and traffic jams in the area; integrate traffic safety and order into the organization of transportation, tourism and resort activities in the area; organize 24/7 duty during holidays; strengthen coordination and information exchange on traffic safety and order among units directly performing tasks in the area.

Ministries, branches and localities shall announce hotline numbers on ensuring traffic order and safety to receive and promptly handle people's feedback during the holidays; send results of the implementation of the task of ensuring traffic order and safety (report on holidays before 3:00 p.m. every day, report the entire peak period of the April 30 - May 1 holiday before 3:00 p.m. on May 4, 2025) to the National Traffic Safety Committee; assign the National Traffic Safety Committee to monitor, synthesize and report to the Prime Minister the results of the implementation of this Official Dispatch.
