In the Mekong Delta, the fresh rice market has not fluctuated much. In An Giang, OM 380 (fresh) rice is fluctuating from 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg; IR 50404 is at 5,400 - 5,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 is at 6,200 - 6,400 VND/kg; OM 18 is at 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 is at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 is at 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.
Trading in other provinces such as Kien Giang, Dong Thap and Long An is also relatively quiet. Traders are buying sparingly, and rice prices generally do not fluctuate much despite limited supply.
Regarding rice, the market showed more positive signs with some varieties increasing slightly. CL 555 raw rice increased by 100 VND/kg, ranging from 8,600 - 8,900 VND/kg. OM 380 was at 8,000 - 8,100 VND/kg; IR 504 was at 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; OM 18 was from 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; 5451 rice was from 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg.
Finished rice also kept good prices. OM 380 was traded at around VND8,800 - 9,000/kg; IR 504 at VND9,500 - 9,700/kg.
By-product prices today remain stable, with some places increasing slightly. OM 5451 broken rice is at 7,350 - 7,450 VND/kg; bran fluctuates from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg - quite high compared to the past three weeks.
At local markets such as Sa Dec (Dong Thap) and An Cu (Tien Giang), the amount of goods arriving is small, transactions are regular but not bustling. Rice prices are stable, warehouses and markets are still buying sporadically. Some types of rice such as 50404 and OM 380 have limited supply, keeping prices stable.
At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged from the weekend. Nang Nhen rice remained at its highest level of VND28,000/kg. Regular rice fluctuated from VND13,000 to VND15,000/kg; Jasmine from VND16,000 to VND18,000/kg; common white rice around VND16,000/kg; Soc usually at VND17,000/kg. Long-grain Thai fragrant rice was from VND20,000 to VND22,000/kg; Huong Lai VND22,000/kg; Nang Hoa VND21,000/kg; Taiwanese rice VND20,000/kg; Soc Thai and Japanese rice were both priced at VND20,000 to VND22,000/kg.
In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remained stable compared to the end of last week. According to VFA, 5% broken rice remained at 398 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice remained at 323 USD/ton. This is considered a positive signal in the context of international rice prices tending to decrease slightly.
