Da Nang Port Border Guard actively fights against drugs and smuggling

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port have advised the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command of the city and local Party committees and authorities in firmly protecting the sovereignty , security and order of the port and the maritime border area.

The unit has done a good job of managing immigration and emigration of 1,309 ships/66,535 crew members/94,200 passengers/5,421,116 tons of cargo.

At the same time, the unit registered and managed 2,095 ships/25,608 crew members/3,354,321 tons of cargo inland waterway vehicles. In particular, in diverse and complex local conditions, the unit actively and proactively implemented professional measures effectively, thereby effectively fighting 3 cases/3 subjects of illegal drug trading and storage, seizing 21.318 grams of synthetic drugs and 1 electronic scale.

Coordinated investigation and handling of 2 cases/2 subjects for trading and transporting prohibited goods, confiscated evidence of 6.869 kg of firecrackers, 5.185 grams of electronic cigarette burner accessories.

In social security work, the unit coordinated with local authorities to present 377 gifts worth 200 million VND to poor households, and coordinated with benefactors to present 600 gifts worth 300 million VND to patients being treated at hospitals in the city.

With the achievements, in the first 6 months of 2025, Da Nang Port Border Guard had 13 groups and 11 individuals receiving extraordinary rewards for performing political tasks and the movement of good people and good deeds.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Tran Cong Thanh praised the border work results that Da Nang Port Border Gate achieved in the past year; at the same time, he requested the Party Committee and Command of the unit to strictly maintain combat readiness regimes; ensure forces and means, proactively grasp the situation, handle situations well, and avoid being passive or surprised.

At the same time, continue to promote propaganda, dissemination of legal education, and work to combat IUU fishing; proactively do a good job of border diplomacy and people's diplomacy; coordinate with forces to effectively perform the tasks of natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue; strictly inspect and control people and vehicles at border gates and seaports, maintain territorial sovereignty, national border security, political security, social order and safety in maritime border areas, port gates, etc.
