This is the first year of the national high school graduation exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. Therefore, the exam review organization has been carefully prepared by schools and centers. Both teachers and students are trying their best to get the best results in the upcoming exam.
Focus on studying for the exam
This year, Sonadezi College of Technology and Management has more than 730 12th graders taking the exam. According to the Head of the General Culture - General Knowledge Department Nguyen Viet Truong Long, most of the school's students choose 2 optional subjects: History and Geography; nearly 100 students choose Physics; very few students choose Biology and Chemistry. Classes are organized by subject to facilitate exam preparation. For Biology, because there are too few students registering for the exam, the school does not organize them into classes, but these students are instructed by teachers separately.
As a Catholic school, most of the 12th grade students of Hoa Binh Xuan Loc College are living in dormitories under the management, care, companionship and guidance of priests and male and female religious. Students are guaranteed nutritious meals; urged and reminded to sleep and rest on time; provided with physical education and sports grounds to improve their health after school hours..., in order to give them a stable and confident mentality to enter the upcoming graduation exam.
Similarly, at the Tan Phu District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center, out of a total of more than 140 students registering for the high school graduation exam, 138 students registered for the elective subjects History and Geography; only 2 students registered for the elective subjects Chemistry and Biology and 1 student registered for the elective subjects History and Biology.
According to the center's leaders, this is the first year of graduation exams according to the 2018 General Education Program. Due to the new program, both teachers and students are still confused, their knowledge is broad, covering all 3 blocks, and the materials are limited. On the other hand, many of the center's students both study and work; the time spent on revision is limited... These are the specific difficulties of the center's students. In return, the center's Board of Directors and many parents are very interested in and encourage their children in their studies. Most students choose the social subject group, so the center can easily arrange classes, which is convenient for organizing revision.
In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Hoa Binh Xuan Loc College has more than 600 students eligible to take the exam. Vice Principal Nguyen Van Quang said that since the beginning of May, the school has organized phase 2 review sessions for students (focusing entirely on exam review). After each review session, teachers will organize an assessment test based on the sample exam questions of the Ministry of Education and Training, on average, each review subject has about 5-6 assessment tests.
In addition, in addition to the review outline sent in advance, the school also prepares sample test sets for all subjects, so that outside of class time, students can self-study by solving test questions assigned by teachers.
Use mock test results to "review" your preparation process
On May 9 and 10, more than 36,600 high school students (including students in the continuing education system) participated in the 2025 High School Graduation Mock Exam. Based on the guidance of the Department of Education and Training, teachers quickly graded and returned the exam papers. The mock exam results are an important basis for both teachers and students to determine what are the "gaps" in knowledge that need to be supplemented, what points need to be noted, and what to review and prepare for the upcoming exam.

Pham Bao Ngoc, a student of class 12C6, Sonadezi College of Technology and Management, said that her test scores were above average, ensuring her graduation. This result helped her identify her shortcomings and improve further.
In the same class as Bao Ngoc, Lai Thanh Truc had quite good test results. Of which, the two elective subjects History and Geography both scored above 8 points. However, Thanh Truc said that she needs to try harder to have a chance to be admitted to university to study journalism or psychology.
"With more than a month left, I will review my knowledge to review better" - Thanh Truc said.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, the results of the mock exam help the school leaders evaluate and review the preparation of facilities, organization of exam supervision, and handling of situations that occur during the exam period to ensure compliance with regulations but not cause psychological stress, affecting the exam results of candidates. At the same time, the school also evaluates the overall quality of the organization of graduation exam review in the recent past, discovering shortcomings that need to be quickly overcome in the coming time.
Vice Principal of the College of Mechanics and Irrigation Pham Duy Dong said that the results of the mock test helped the school classify and identify students, focusing on organizing appropriate review sessions for each student. At the same time, the mock test also helped teachers shape the exam structure more closely, thereby having better review plans for students. Based on the mock test results, the school will urge students to review and prepare more carefully for the upcoming high school exam.
