Ha Tinh Newspaper is honored to have 1 work winning the encouragement prize in the Writing Contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation", 2022 - 2023.

On the evening of April 26, at the Hanoi Opera House, the People's Army Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank held a ceremony to summarize and award the second Writing Contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" (2022 - 2023) and launch the third Writing Contest (2023 - 2024).

Attending the program were comrades: General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; comrades of the Party Central Committee; Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications; Do Tien Sy, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam; Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Competition Steering Committee; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and leaders of central ministries, departments, branches and organizations.

The writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" was first launched in April 2021 to disseminate, propagate, and raise awareness in implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo "On strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".

Following the success of the first contest, the second writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" saw an increase in the number of authors, works, press agencies and quality of participating works.

Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Competition Steering Committee, spoke at the ceremony.

The Organizing Committee of the second contest received more than 640 press works from across the country, increasing both the number of works and the number of press agencies compared to the first contest.

The contest has attracted positive responses from experts, scientists, and journalists from press agencies nationwide; at the same time, there was the participation of leaders, managers, and commanders at all levels, and especially for the first time, there were works submitted by foreigners.

Most of the entries for the contest closely followed the theme and content of the contest; the quality of the entries was relatively even, many of which clearly demonstrated discovery and addressed new issues in the task of fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; preventing self-evolution, self-transformation, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Many articles directly addressed the topic of preventing corruption and negativity led by our Party.

With more than 640 entries, through 2 preliminary and final rounds, the Final Jury with leading prestigious journalists nationwide unanimously selected 30 outstanding entries to award prizes including: 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 9 third prizes and 12 consolation prizes.

The Organizing Committee also decided to award one outstanding work by a foreigner and commend three press agencies with many quality works participating in the contest.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the results of this contest not only contribute to improving the quality of propaganda work on protecting the Party's ideological foundation through the political genre, but also connect and promote the talents and enthusiasm of experts, scientists, journalists and press agencies nationwide to contribute to effectively implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo dated October 22, 2018 on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".

On this occasion, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Major General Doan Xuan Bo - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper continued to launch the third writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation" in 2023-2024.

At the ceremony, in addition to the exchange with the award-winning author, the audience also enjoyed a special art program with songs praising the Party and Uncle Ho, affirming that the Communist Party of Vietnam is always the vanguard of the class and the nation, the decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution, trusted and supported by the people with steadfast and complete faith.

The work "Eliminating distorted manifestations in perception of the fight against corruption and negativity" by author Manh Ha was awarded an encouragement prize at the Contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation", 2022 - 2023.

The work consists of 2 articles, published consecutively in Ha Tinh Newspaper:

Lesson 1. "Look straight at the truth", resolutely prevent and fight!

Lesson 2. “Look carefully and think broadly”!

The work is structured into two articles affirming a truth that is happening in society, specifically: some cadres, party members, and people have shown deviations in their perception of the fight against corruption and negativity led by our Party. In particular, after the Central Committee announced the figures on anti-corruption in the past 10 years, many individuals have made inappropriate statements in many different spaces, greatly affecting the people's trust in the Party.

The work also exposed the distorted arguments of hostile forces aimed at denying the achievements of the fight against corruption and negativity, claiming that corruption is the fault of the regime; most of the current cadres and party members are negative and degraded...

Based on the recognition of the truth, the work has provided systematic information on the transformation in the fight against corruption and negativity of our Party and State such as: the process of reorganizing the Central Steering Committee from the model directly under the Government headed by the Prime Minister to the model directly under the Politburo headed by the General Secretary; adding the name of the Central Steering Committee on corruption prevention and control (adding the word "negativity"); the implementation process and results of corruption prevention and control work; very important innovations today in corruption prevention and control work...

At the same time, the work builds a system of arguments to eliminate the distorted arguments of hostile forces, as well as the distorted manifestations of some individuals when they have a wrong perception of the work of preventing corruption and negativity led by our Party.

The work also offers some epistemological solutions, aiming to provide knowledge for cadres, party members and people in preventing distorted arguments such as: When mentioning an event, we must pay attention to the specificity, only mentioning the incident to the point; we must see the happy conditions in the current working environment; see the eternal contradictions of capitalism as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong pointed out in the article "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam"; continue to improve revolutionary ethics by self-study, self-research, and cultivating political qualities; focus on improving the quality of ideological work in party cell activities, participating in patriotic emulation movements to promote local and unit development...
