Thereby helping to improve the quality of statistical information, while shortening the time for processing and announcing survey results.

According to the plan, the census will take place within 30 days (from July 1 to July 30, 2025). Preliminary results will be announced in December 2025, official results in March 2026 and thematic analysis reports are expected to be published in July 2026.

The District People's Committee organized a training conference on professional skills for compiling the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census.

Implementing Decision No. 484/QD-TTg dated June 7, 2024 of the Prime Minister on organizing the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census, Ha Tinh province is urgently implementing steps in accordance with the schedule and instructions of the Central Government.

Currently, the grassroots investigators are focusing on collecting information and compiling household lists in both urban and rural areas; at the same time, closely coordinating with the Provincial Census Steering Committee to verify, review, and respond to relevant information. It is expected that the household list will be completed before May 30.

Collecting information and making a list of investigation units is an important step to help the Provincial Steering Committee for the General Census grasp the number of investigation areas and units; as a basis for planning resource mobilization, selecting and training forces participating in the investigation and directing, organizing and effectively managing the general census. At the same time, it helps the forces participating in the investigation in the province to correctly identify the scope of the assigned areas, avoiding duplication or omission of units.

Previously, in order to thoroughly prepare for the official survey phase, localities across the province organized training conferences on professional skills in compiling lists for statistical officers and grassroots investigators. The training content focused on the process of dividing areas, how to collect information from household lists and lists of enterprises and cooperatives operating in the agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors; at the same time, instructions on the effective use of technological tools such as survey management software, specialized websites and smart mobile devices.

The rural and agricultural census is conducted according to the Law on Statistics every 10 years.

2025 will be the sixth time Vietnam has conducted a rural and agricultural census. The first was in 1994; the subsequent ones were in 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016.

The results of the census will be the basis for assessing the current situation and results of the implementation of national target programs on industrialization, modernization of agriculture, rural areas and new rural construction. At the same time, it will be the basis for developing plans and strategies for rural and agricultural development and improving the living standards of rural residents nationwide as well as in each locality.
