Storm No. 15: Dak Lak issues sea ban

To proactively ensure safety for people and vehicles operating at sea during storm No. 15, on November 26, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province issued a sea ban order.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee requested coastal localities and relevant departments and branches to implement the announcement banning ships from going to sea and fishing activities at sea; the ban will start from 6:00 a.m. on November 26, 2025 until storm No. 15 dissipates.

The Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Fisheries and Islands coordinate with coastal localities to closely monitor information on weather developments to proactively notify fishermen and boat owners who are fishing at sea to resume fishing after the storm; at the same time, have appropriate production plans to ensure safety when fishing.

Regarding ensuring the safety of people and vehicles operating at sea, the People's Committees of coastal communes and wards, agencies and units direct units, organizations and individuals involved in ship repair and building activities and other maritime transport activities to implement disaster prevention and search and rescue work according to the established plan.

Relevant agencies, units and coastal localities in the province shall carry out propaganda work, instruct organizations and individuals engaged in fishing and seafood exploitation activities at sea to strictly comply when notified; at the same time, call on and guide boats to enter storm shelters and anchorages of relevant agencies and units.

Along with that, communes, wards, relevant agencies and units absolutely do not allow people to stay on boats, aquaculture cages, watchtowers, etc. to ensure safety of life and property.

Dak Lak province has just experienced a historic flood that lasted from the night of November 19 to November 23, causing serious damage to people and property of the people and the state; estimated damage of about 5,500 billion VND. Currently, people and forces and localities are focusing on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, restoring production and stabilizing life.

Previously, storm No. 13 also severely affected the northeastern communes and wards of Dak Lak province; in which, hundreds of boats were severely damaged, production equipment and shrimp and fish raised in cages of the people were also seriously damaged.
