Responding to storm No. 15: Lam Dong bans vehicles from operating at sea

In response to the complex developments and the dangerous level of storm No. 15 (KOTO), Lam Dong province has implemented proactive response measures. From 7:00 a.m. on November 28, Lam Dong implemented a sea ban, all tourist boats, transport ships, and fishing vessels are prohibited from operating and traveling at sea until further notice.

The provincial People's Committee leaders requested departments, branches and localities to focus on calling and guiding ships still operating at sea, especially in sea areas at risk of direct impact of the storm, to urgently move out or take shelter to ensure safety.

In parallel with stopping all activities at sea, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Departments, branches, communes, wards, and Phu Quy special zone to proactively deploy the most necessary measures to prevent, avoid, and respond to storm No. 15 and storm-induced floods in the spirit of "worrying about the high prices - being happy about the low prices"; proactively review and complete local response plans and scenarios, based on the specific developments of the storm and the specific situation in the locality to decide to deploy necessary measures to ensure the safety of people's lives, especially on islands and coastal areas.

Lam Dong province also requested departments, branches and localities to deploy measures to ensure safety for dams, dykes, school headquarters, infrastructure works; production and business activities, especially agricultural production and aquaculture. At the same time, localities carefully review plans, promptly organize evacuation and emergency relocation of residents from dangerous areas, especially on cages, aquaculture watchtowers, areas at risk of flash floods, landslides if strong winds and heavy rains are forecasted in the area.

Localities proactively arrange forces, vehicles, food and provisions in key and vulnerable areas according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto to deploy storm and flood response and rescue work when bad situations occur...

As of 7:00 a.m. on November 28, the weather in coastal areas of Lam Dong province has not recorded rain, but is sunny and windy.
