Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Lao National Day in Da Nang

On the evening of November 28, the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane. Attending the ceremony were representatives of the leaders of Da Nang city, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, leaders of the provinces in the Central Highlands, representatives of diplomatic agencies and international guests.

Speaking at the event, Lao Consul General in Da Nang Souphanh Hadaoheuang affirmed that the past 50 years have been an important historical milestone for the Lao People's Democratic Republic, opening an era of independence, freedom and development for the country. Under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the country has maintained political stability, continuous economic growth; per capita income in 2025 reached 2,170 USD. Laos currently has diplomatic relations with 151 countries and successfully completed its role as chair of the 3rd round of ASEAN in 2024.

The Consul General emphasized that Laos’ achievements have received important support from international friends, especially the Party, State and people of Vietnam. The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam continues to develop effectively in the fields of politics, defense - security, economy , education and local exchanges.

He said that there are currently more than 2,000 Lao students studying in the Central Highlands provinces; many cooperation projects on energy, transportation, agriculture, education and tourism have been implemented with positive results. The Consul General also expressed his impression of the development achievements of Vietnam and Da Nang city, considering this as a driving force to promote bilateral cooperation.

On this occasion, he sent best wishes to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, and believed that the Laos-Vietnam relationship will be "forever green and everlasting".

On behalf of the city's leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh sent congratulations to the Party, State, Government and people of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, as well as the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang. He expressed his joy at the achievements that Laos has made in 50 years of building and developing the country; at the same time, he affirmed that Da Nang will continue to promote cooperation with Lao localities, creating favorable conditions for the two sides to develop together.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere, imbued with special solidarity and friendship between Laos and Da Nang city.
