The flood separated a section of the Ba River embankment, near Dinh Ong Bridge, connecting Tay Hoa Commune and Phu Hoa 1 Commune, swirling inland, creating a new river, about 100m wide and more than 1.5km long, becoming a small branch of the Ba River. Fortunately, all the people were able to escape in this terrifying situation.
Not yet recovered from the shock of the near-death situation, Mrs. Le Thi Luan said in a haunted voice: "From the time I was born until now, I have never seen such a terrifying scene. My child and I were terrified when we saw the flood and ran away. On the way, we met a cyclist who was knocked down by the flood, but luckily he was able to get up and run away."

An entire area used for raising livestock and building solid barns has now become a river, some places 3-4m deep, and some places more than 7m from the remaining ground. The land that was thriving and bustling with cow, pig, chicken and duck farms has been completely wiped out. Mr. Luong Cu (same village as Phuoc Thanh) recounted: "Before the flood, this edge of land was more than 500m from the edge of the Ba River with many layers of hundreds of years old bamboo left by my grandfather. But in just a moment, everything was swept away without a trace."
Mr. Phan Van Tuyen’s land, which specializes in raising fighting cocks, is also entirely located within the new river. In the old land, Mr. Tuyen spent more than 200 square meters to build a solid barn with 7 layers of split stone, but there are no traces of stone left at the site.
Blocking the new river and the current Ba River is a land area of tens of thousands of square meters, solidly filled with rocks encroaching on the Ba River bed. Phuoc Thanh village chief, Mr. Dang Van Doan said: "As soon as the terrible flood came down, many people ran to Dinh Ong bridge to see the flood coming down. I immediately called the commune, but no one could react in time. The flood was too terrible!"

Up to now, local authorities are still busy with famine relief and emergency handling for people, and the problems of livestock and property damage have not yet been assessed and handled.
