Pepper prices in the world today are flat. To summarize this week, the global pepper market tends to increase with a slight increase in Indonesia, adding up to 2.2% for Vietnam's pepper exports.
The latest figures from ITC show that Germany's pepper import demand fluctuated significantly in September 2025. In this month alone, Germany imported 2,241 tons of pepper with a turnover of 17.9 million USD, up 15.3% compared to August but still down 12.3% compared to the same period in 2024.
Vietnam continues to be the main supplier, accounting for 50.6% of total imports, equivalent to 1,135 tons. Brazil ranks second with 645 tons, accounting for 28.8%, followed by India with 98 tons, accounting for 4.4%.
In the first 9 months of 2025, Germany imported 23,206 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of 184.6 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased by 8.1% while the turnover increased sharply by 55.2% thanks to the high world pepper price. Vietnam continued to maintain its position as the largest supplier with 13,742 tons, up 1.7% and accounting for 59.2% of the market share.

Brazil also recorded a sharp increase of 33.5% to 5,223 tonnes, accounting for 22.5%. In contrast, supplies from India decreased by 9.4% to 778 tonnes, accounting for 3.4% of the market share. Cambodia emerged with a nearly double growth rate, reaching 623 tonnes and accounting for 2.7%.
Germany is currently the largest pepper consumer market in Europe and the fifth largest in the world. With a stable demand of about 28,000–30,000 tonnes per year, the country remains an important export destination for the Vietnamese pepper industry, which has maintained its leading position for many consecutive years.
