On the afternoon of January 6, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Duong City Police (Hai Duong Province) executed an arrest warrant to temporarily detain the Director of An Phat Plastic Production and Trading Company Limited, Nguyen Trung Kien (born in 1993, residing in Ung Hoe Commune, Ninh Giang), and Vu Thi Oanh (born in 1983, residing in Hong Lac Commune, Thanh Ha), the company's accountant, to investigate the crime of tax evasion.

Previously, on November 14, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Duong City Police initiated a criminal case of tax evasion at An Phat Plastic Production and Trading Company Limited.

According to the investigation results, in 2021 and 2022, this company imported a large quantity of raw materials such as plastic beads to sell to individuals and businesses in Hai Duong province and a number of other provinces and cities. However, during the transaction of goods, it did not issue value-added invoices and did not declare and pay taxes to the state budget as prescribed.

According to the appraisal conclusion of Hai Duong Provincial Tax Department, the above behavior resulted in tax evasion of more than 1.4 billion VND.

From the collected evidence, Hai Duong City Police have initiated a case and temporarily detained the two above-mentioned suspects for further investigation.
