Previously, delegates voted to dismiss Mr. Le Thanh Do from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province for the 2021-2026 term and Mr. Lo Van Phuong from the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Dien Bien province for the 2021-2026 term. Delegates of the People's Council of Dien Bien province elected Mr. Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term with 43/43 votes, reaching 100% of the total number of delegates present.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Tien Dung stated that the completion of key personnel plays a particularly important role in the period when the province is entering a period of accelerating the implementation of development goals in 2025 and preparing for the first year of the 2025-2030 term. The personnel introduced and elected to positions this time are all exemplary cadres in the entire Provincial Party Committee in terms of moral qualities, working capacity, sense of organization and discipline, extensive experience and have all completed the leadership positions they have assumed very well; meeting the criteria and standards for the positions and have been carefully considered by the Politburo , the Secretariat, and the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee before being introduced. Immediately after the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and agencies in the political system urgently started to carry out their tasks, especially speeding up the progress of socio-economic, defense and security targets in 2025; Prepare content for the regular year-end meeting and effectively implement the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress.
