( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of October 10, at Viettel Academy, the General Department of Politics held the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Military-level Competition for Excellent Grassroots Trade Union Chairmen. Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and awarded prizes to collectives and individuals with high achievements at the competition.

Attending the closing ceremony were Comrade Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc, Head of the National Defense Trade Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest; leaders and commanders of a number of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

In his summary report of the contest, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc emphasized that the contest was truly a great festival for the entire army's union cadres and union members, creating opportunities for union cadres, especially grassroots union presidents, to exchange and learn. This was also an intensive and comprehensive training session on theory and expertise, contributing to raising awareness, responsibility and skills in organizing union activities.

With the theme: "Bravery, intelligence - Passion, affection", the contest witnessed 38 grassroots trade union chairmen from agencies and units throughout the army demonstrating their professional knowledge and skills in trade union work, along with their bravery, intelligence, experience and talent through 4 rounds of competition.

What is noteworthy in this competition is that many grassroots union presidents, participating for the first time in a competition with high requirements in content and format, have performed excellently in the competition. All contestants have convinced the audience with their sense of responsibility, passion, and enthusiasm for the workers' movement and grassroots union activities, making the competition a great success.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates to 38 candidates who won the title of Excellent Grassroots Trade Union President in the Army in 2024. The Director of the General Department of Politics awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 Excellent prizes, 12 First prizes, 10 Second prizes and 6 Third prizes; and awarded Certificates of Merit to 16 candidates with the best performances.
