In addition to growing fruit trees, Ms. Ngan also grows hybrid acacia and raises livestock. |
Although born and raised in the coastal area, when she met her husband in the mountainous commune of Phong Xuan, Ms. Ngan did not hesitate to work hard to renovate the garden with her husband. The garden of more than 1 hectare of her husband's garden is planted with many types of fruit trees such as: lemon, green-skinned grapefruit, jackfruit...
Taking us on a tour of the fruit orchard, Ms. Ngan confided: The land is on the hillside, so if you want to grow fruit trees economically, you have to work hard to improve and fertilize them. In addition to watering in the summer, you have to fertilize at the right time for the trees to grow and develop well. Up to now, jackfruit, lemon, grapefruit... have started to give regular harvests. In addition to growing fruit trees, I also raise 3 fish ponds and grow more than 3 hectares of hybrid acacia, lotus, rice...
To achieve the stability she has today, Ms. Ngan has gone through countless difficulties. In 2014, when she first got married, her job was unstable, she was not used to life in a new land, her main source of income depended on a few fields, so her family struggled financially. When she gave birth to her first child, her economic life became even more difficult. From then on, the desire to escape poverty was even more urgent in her. Realizing that her family had a large area of garden land and hilly land; if she invested and worked hard to research and learn techniques for growing and caring for plants and livestock, she would have income. As she said, she did, Ms. Ngan started to renovate her garden. To have money to buy seedlings, she boldly borrowed preferential loans from banks. To make ends meet, she also raised chickens, ducks, grew lotus, raised fish... Not only that, she also brought specialties such as fish sauce, shrimp paste... from her coastal hometown of Quang Ngan, Quang Dien to the mountains to sell to earn more income.
With the experience gained in the process of raising livestock and growing crops, Ms. Ngan's family always wholeheartedly shares and helps the villagers. Many households have boldly participated in converting the structure of crops and livestock to suit the soil, developing the household economy, contributing to promoting effective movements and models in the locality.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, President of the Phong Xuan Commune Women's Union, said: Since becoming a daughter-in-law and living in Phong Xuan Commune, Ms. Ngan has always strived to develop the economy and build a prosperous and happy family. She herself is a very enthusiastic women's union member, from arts to sports... Ms. Ngan is a typical example of striving to develop the economy and build a happy family in the locality.
