Attending the inauguration ceremony was Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the radiotherapy system will be invested from 2024, including a linear accelerator radiotherapy machine and a CT Scanner simulating radiotherapy with a total value of nearly 104 billion VND.
According to the assessment, the combination of linear accelerator with modern imaging diagnostic systems such as CT simulation and MRI helps increase the accuracy in tumor localization, maximize healthy tissue protection and improve clinical treatment effectiveness.
Speaking at the ceremony, Doctor CKII Nguyen Thanh Truyen, Director of Vinh Long General Hospital, said that the inauguration and putting into use of the linear accelerator radiotherapy system is an important milestone in the roadmap for developing specialized techniques and modernizing medical examination and treatment, helping people enjoy advanced medical services right in the locality, reducing the burden of treatment costs.
Director of Vinh Long Province Department of Health Ho Thi Thu Hang assessed that the new system allows the implementation of advanced techniques to help with precise treatment, reduce side effects and improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
Ms. Hang said that this event is not only a breakthrough in health care for people in Vinh Long province, but also creates favorable conditions for people in the area to enjoy high-tech medical services. This helps patients not have to be transferred to higher levels, helping to reduce the burden of treatment costs.
“This is a big step forward in the roadmap for developing specialized healthcare, realizing the goal of bringing high-quality healthcare services closer to the people, in line with the spirit of innovation - humanity - integration that the healthcare sector of Vinh Long province is aiming for,” said Ms. Hang.
