The hospital operates on a 'patient-centered' model.

Improving the capacity of doctors and medical staff, investing in facilities, multidisciplinary treatment… helps create a “patient-centered” model at the Hanoi French Hospital.

Peter (Australian, 49 years old) unfortunately fell ill during a short trip to Vietnam. He visited a medical facility and was diagnosed with influenza. His condition rapidly worsened and he was transferred to the Hanoi French Hospital (HFH). Doctors found that Peter had signs of respiratory and circulatory failure.

Thanks to the multidisciplinary coordination, the emergency, resuscitation, infectious disease, diagnostic imaging, and respiratory doctors quickly diagnosed the patient with bacterial pneumonia, causing complications of influenza A. The patient was intubated and put on a ventilator, and closely monitored. After 10 days, Peter fully recovered, with no sequelae. "I am truly grateful for the dedicated and professional care of the medical team at HFH," Peter shared.

According to Dr. Erwan Debuc - Medical Director, Hanoi French Hospital, taking the patient as the center has been the guiding principle in all hospital activities over the past quarter century. First, the hospital focuses on developing a team of experienced, internationally trained doctors and physicians; regularly organizes knowledge exchange sessions to improve medical expertise. These activities aim to support doctors and physicians of different specialties in their ability to coordinate, make accurate diagnoses and treatment methods. In addition to developing the medical team, the reception and medical examination and treatment process is also carefully prepared, helping to bring a sense of comfort and peace of mind to patients.

At the Hanoi French Hospital, patients are examined and treated according to a multidisciplinary model. Accordingly, doctors do not only focus on treating a specific cause or symptom, but rely on the coordination of expertise from different specialties to achieve the most comprehensive and effective results.

"Multidisciplinary treatment is how we deliver the best results for each individual who comes to the hospital for examination and treatment," said Dr. Erwan Debuc.

The "patient-centered" model is also demonstrated through investment in hospital facilities and equipment. Last March, HFH launched the Center for Prevention, Diagnosis and Control of Vascular Disease. The center provides cardiovascular risk screening services to help prevent stroke, with the participation of a team of experienced doctors and experts from 5 specialties: internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, endocrinology and respiratory - allergy. For each case, doctors from the 5 specialties will evaluate the risk factors and the overall condition of the disease, thereby providing the most appropriate recommendations or treatment methods.

In May 2023, HFH inaugurated a hospital expansion project to improve patient service quality and medical expertise.

"We have been orienting and implementing a "patient-centered" care model for all medical examination and treatment activities for the past 26 years. This hospital expansion aims to meet the need for European-standard health care right in the heart of Hanoi," said a hospital representative.
