Viet Duc Friendship Hospital supports training and transfers some advanced professional techniques to Kien An Hospital

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 9, a delegation from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital led by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Tho, Deputy Director of the Hospital, came to survey and evaluate the line management work at Kien An Hospital.

At the working program, the leaders of the 02 Hospitals discussed the plan to inspect and evaluate professional activities, the ability to receive Project 1816, the Project on remote examination and treatment and training packages for the period 2024 - 2025. In particular, Kien An Hospital proposed that Viet Duc Friendship Hospital transfer 12 techniques in 02 specialties of Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging in 2025, including : basic knee replacement surgery; combined bone surgery to treat acetabular and pelvic fractures, laparoscopic colorectal surgery; fixation surgery in thoracic-lumbar and lumbar spine injuries; surgery to treat pleural slough, pleural adhesions after chest trauma; surgery to create arteriovenous fistulas for hemodialysis...

After a field survey at Kien An Hospital, the delegation of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital noted that Kien An Hospital basically meets the standards of facilities, human resources, and equipment for medical examination and treatment. However, in the coming time, Kien An Hospital needs to have a plan to develop human resources, prioritize the development of necessary techniques that have equipment to meet training courses and technical transfer packages; ensure the legality of professional work in general and training activities in particular. Along with that, quickly supplement equipment to serve techniques, especially trained techniques that need to be deployed in the near future. On the other hand, promote the application of information technology, online activities with Viet Duc Friendship Hospital to promptly handle emergencies beyond the capacity of lower levels. Viet Duc Friendship Hospital agrees to support training and transfer of some advanced professional techniques to Kien An Hospital.

Kien An Hospital was established Established and officially put into operation in 1955. In 2008, the Hospital was recognized by the City People's Committee as a Grade I General Hospital and became a complete General Hospital of Hai Phong City. The hospital has a scale of 550 planned beds and 738 actual beds . In July 2024, the construction of a 7-storey treatment building was officially put into operation with a ^floor area of 6,992m2 designed according to national standards, a major change in the appearance of Kien An Hospital, creating a green, clean, friendly and convenient hospital campus. The hospital consists of 39 departments, including 10 functional rooms, 22 clinical departments, 07 paraclinical departments with full specialties. The hospital has more than 600 staff, including 129 doctors, 372 nurses, midwives, and technicians. The rate of postgraduate doctors is 62%.

The 7-storey building put into operation contributes to meeting the medical examination and treatment needs of the people.

Over the years, the Hospital has continuously applied science and technology, invested in equipment, deployed many central-level techniques, new and modern techniques. Therefore , it has successfully treated many serious and critical cases, bringing life opportunities to patients and contributing to reducing the burden on central-level hospitals./.
