Air ambulance team ( Military Hospital 175 ) brought the patient back for emergency care and treatment.
The patient is Mr. T. (born in 1973, residing in Quang Ngai province), working on fishing boat QNg-90828.
While fishing, he experienced pain in the epigastric region, then the pain spread throughout the abdomen, accompanied by nausea, bloating, and constipation.
The patient was admitted to Tien Nu Island Infirmary with mild fever, dry lips, infection, and severe poisoning.
Fisherman T. received first aid at Tien Nu Island Infirmary (Truong Sa archipelago).
Through consultation, the medical team determined that the patient may have a perforated gastric-duodenal ulcer, accompanied by cirrhosis, lipid metabolism disorder and heart valve regurgitation, and needed to be transferred to the mainland for emergency treatment.
Under the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, at 5:50 p.m. on June 25, the Air Rescue Team of Military Hospital 175 coordinated with Army Corps 18 to dispatch aircraft numbered VN-8620 to approach Tien Nu Island.
At 11:00 p.m. the same day, the patient received first aid and was safely transferred to a plane to Ho Chi Minh City early the next morning.
The medical team closely monitored the patient's health on the flight back to the mainland.
Captain, Doctor Nguyen Van Nghia, a member of the emergency team, said: “The patient showed signs of abdominal pneumothorax, and air travel poses a great risk. We closely monitored his respiratory condition to ensure absolute safety throughout the flight.”
Patients are given emergency care and timely treatment.
As soon as he arrived at Military Hospital 175, the patient was urgently tested, had an interdisciplinary consultation, and underwent surgery at 9:30 a.m. on June 26.
The surgery was successful and the patient's health is currently stable.
