The Ministry of Health has issued Decision No. 1428/QD-BYT on recognizing Lao Cai Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to perform in vitro fertilization techniques.

This is good news for infertile couples in Lao Cai .

Previously, with the desire to meet the increasing treatment needs of people, patients, especially couples Infertility and sterility in Lao Cai and the Northwestern provinces, the Lao Cai Provincial Reproductive Support Center at Lao Cai Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital was established with the goal of caring for and supporting reproductive health, meeting the increasing needs of the people.

With the investment of Lao Cai province, up to now, the Reproductive Support Center at Lao Cai Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has been invested in and built with a scale to become the most advanced Reproductive Support Center in the Northwest region; investing in synchronous, modern equipment and highly skilled human resources trained and transferred techniques from experts of Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

Lao Cai Provincial Reproductive Support Center has 4 units, including: General Administration Department, Infertility Department - Pre-marital Counseling - Andrology, In vitro fertilization (IVF) Department and Reproductive Endocrinology Department. The human resources sent for training have practiced and been confirmed to have completed 20 cycles of in vitro fertilization. In addition, there are enough human resources for emergency resuscitation, anesthesia and mental health examination. The center has invested in many modern equipment such as CO2 incubators, incubators, sperm storage tanks, centrifuges, frozen embryo storage tanks, ultrasound machines with vaginal probes, inverted microscopes, operating cabinets, etc.
