Evaluation of the implementation of innovation in general education textbook programs

On the morning of May 30, in Lao Cai city, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to review and evaluate the implementation of innovation in general education programs and textbooks.

According to the report at the conference, after 5 years of implementation, the 2018 General Education Textbook Program has met the goals and requirements of educational innovation according to Resolution No. 29 of the Central Executive Committee; the quality and content of textbooks are suitable for students' ages; the price of basic textbooks is suitable for socio -economic conditions and the average living standards of local people.

The Department of Education and Training has directed the implementation of innovation in teaching and learning methods throughout the sector, focusing on students, shifting from content-based teaching to teaching and learning to develop learners' capacity and qualities, thereby achieving many results: students have made remarkable progress, especially students in mountainous areas have become more confident and proactive in the learning process and participating in other activities; at the National Excellent Student Competition, Lao Cai won 71 prizes (2 First prizes, 7 Second prizes, 24 Third prizes, 38 Encouragement prizes, an increase of 8 prizes compared to the 2023 - 2024 school year); 1 student won a Bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad...

At the conference, many managers and teachers discussed, clearly stating their experiences, shortcomings, limitations and proposed solutions to innovate teaching methods to meet the requirements of the 2018 general education program.
