Musician Nguyen Van Chung explains the most controversial verse in "Mother's Diary".

Recently, musician Nguyen Van Chung shared his emotional thoughts, for the first time thoroughly explaining the profound meaning behind this controversial lyric, revealing the "heartfelt" feelings of a father and mother.

Nguyen Van Chung recounted: "When I finished writing 'Mother's Diary', many audiences sent emails saying that the song was very good, there was only one sentence they didn't like 'There will be someone who loves you more than your mother loves you' because no one loves you more than your mother. That sentence is wrong", This is a common reaction of many people when listening to this song, based on the sacred concept of maternal love.

The musician gave a completely different perspective, a thorough explanation, coming from his own experience as a father. He affirmed: "It's true that in this world, no one loves their child more than their mother, but that lyric is a mother's wish, not an affirmation."

Nguyen Van Chung explains that anyone who has ever been a mother or father will understand that they cannot be with their children all their lives. At some point, when the children grow up, the parents will have to "leave".

For that reason, the love for their children is so great that, when thinking about a future without them, mothers and fathers have only one wish: "When the children grow up, I have to leave. When I leave, I hope that there will be someone in this world who loves and cares for them more than me. I hope so."

He emphasized that this was not a comparison or denial of his love, but a wish of his parents. "Only those who have become parents know. That is a dream. Anyone can do it, as long as they care for their children as much as they do. The more people who love their children, the more secure they will be."

While sharing these feelings, musician Nguyen Van Chung could not hold back his emotions and burst into tears. His tears showed the sincerity, depth and intense love he put into the song, as well as his sympathy for the mother's feelings.

Mother's Diary was composed by Nguyen Van Chung in 2008, stemming from the idea of writing a song as a gift for his mother. At that time, his family was facing a crisis. His mother's care and concern moved him. He thought back to the sacrifices his mother had made for her children since childhood and wrote the song.

The song "Mother's Diary" is performed by singer Hien Thuc.

When the song was completed, the musician showed it to Hien Thuc. Because she was busy with other projects, she did not have time to record it. Three years later, Nguyen Van Chung invited Hien Thuc to sing Mother's Diary again and she agreed. As a mother, Hien Thuc was moved when performing the song. She confided that she cried many times in the studio.

Mother's Diary is 8 minutes long, which is quite inconvenient when released and performed on stage or television. Nguyen Van Chung admitted that he was worried about this. However, he decided not to cut the song because he wanted to fully and completely recreate the mother's journey following her child through the stages of development.
