Hanoi Secretary promises to quickly resolve all teachers' petitions

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc pledged to resolve teachers' complaints and recommendations, and at the same time improve remuneration policies so that teachers can work with peace of mind.

Education in the capital must be pioneering and exemplary.

On the morning of November 11, at the ceremony to honor advanced models and outstanding teachers of the capital in 2025, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed: Investing in education is investing in the future of Hanoi, taking care of education is taking care of the long-term development of the capital.

With the policy of education and training as the top national policy, the City Party Committee will soon issue an action program to implement Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo , creating all conditions for the capital's education sector to develop rapidly. The City will also continue to research and perfect its remuneration policies, creating the best conditions for teachers to work with peace of mind, contribute and be creative.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc further emphasized: "We will resolve the difficulties that teachers reflect and make recommendations as quickly as possible, without avoiding any issues."

Also at the ceremony, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc expressed gratitude to the capital's teachers - those who are day and night "sowing seeds of knowledge and nurturing personality" for future generations.

He acknowledged the outstanding results that the Hanoi education sector has achieved in recent times, such as the network of schools being invested in and developed; the highest high school graduation rate in more than 20 years; many students winning national and international awards, affirming the leading position in the country in the quality of key education...

The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that a civilized and advanced capital must have an advanced education system. He suggested that the capital's education sector review and supplement the school network planning until 2030 and vision to 2045, ensuring enough schools, enough classes, enough teachers to meet the learning needs of the capital's people.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc also requested the education sector to coordinate in advising on the implementation of innovation in general education programs and teaching methods; gradually make English the second language in schools; and fully prepare conditions to implement two-session/day learning across the city.

In particular, the head of the capital suggested that Hanoi education take the lead in implementing 10th grade entrance exams and high school graduation exams on computers.

In a separate message to teachers, the Hanoi Secretary expressed his hope that each teacher will continuously learn, innovate, spread positive energy, and arouse the desire to excel in each student.

"Despite the difficulties, hardships and heavy work pressure, each collective and individual should unite and strive with love and responsibility to become exemplary teachers, worthy of the honor and noble profession," said Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc.

According to the summary report of outstanding results by Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, Hanoi currently has nearly 3,000 kindergartens and general schools, 352 vocational training institutions, 2.3 million students and 140,000 teachers. The rate of public schools meeting national standards is 80.6%. In 2025, the city will build and put into use 43 new schools.

Key education continues to affirm its position when Hanoi students lead the country in the national excellent student exam with 200 awards, with 18 students winning international awards, including 3 medals from the Chemistry and Biology Olympiad, 5 medals from the World Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.

The city was also chosen to host the 2026 World Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, marking a step forward in cooperation and promoting the image of Vietnamese education internationally.

In addition, Hanoi is the first locality in the country to implement support for boarding meals for primary school students, apply AI in educational management, digitize 100% of admission records, and build GIS digital maps to serve management and admission work.

However, Mr. Tran The Cuong also frankly admitted: the capital's education still has problems that need to be solved, such as the difference in quality between the inner city and the suburbs, a local shortage of teachers, facilities in rapidly urbanizing areas that do not meet demand, and some phenomena of school violence and food safety still occur.
