In the first season, the project was implemented with the theme "Continue writing simple things" and filmed at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum - a place that preserves cultural and historical values, authentically recreating the image of Ho Chi Minh City through each period; with the main message being "encouraging patriotism and national pride through simple stories with specific actions in daily life".
The production team of the program Face of Vietnam
Working at Ho Chi Minh City Television in different roles such as editor, host, GenZ members of the production team together created an emotional reunion night, gathering 11 characters including politicians , armed forces, businessmen, artists, intellectuals, youth community/youth groups...
Sharing about the journey to create a memorable filming night, BTV Lan Nhi, the project's main producer and editor, confided: “I was inspired by previous generations as well as by my own experiences during business trips. In particular, the business trip to Truong Sa archipelago in April 2023 gave me special emotions. I saw the stories of Vietnamese people from North to South and even on remote islands.
What these characters have in common is a passionate love for their homeland, and they always try to preserve and promote that love by doing what they can with very specific contributions. Sometimes these are just short moments, small actions but come from a sincere heart, from patriotism, and from the spirit of compatriots.
The program created an emotional reunion night, bringing together 11 characters from many different fields.
Meanwhile, 60-second MC Pham Thanh and editor Trung Hau always want to try their hand at different roles. At Vietnamese Faces, they are not simply hosts but also directly participate in the production process, meeting and talking with the characters to collect materials for the reunion night of Vietnamese faces.
Taking on the role of creative director, MC Pham Thanh brought unique staging ideas, pushing the audience's emotions to a climax. From there, the stories and messages of the 11 characters were conveyed completely, subtly and full of emotion.
Sharing his feelings about being one of the pieces that created the first season of “Vietnam Faces”, Editor Phan Trung Hau was moved: “The young editors and MCs of Ho Chi Minh City Television are not afraid to commit and constantly create simple values that are deeply moving…”.
In addition to the role of media manager of the project, Trong Hien, Quan Han and Quoc Tri also took on the role of leading and interacting with guests on the red carpet of the program. Based on the script, the production team, which is made up of young faces of the Gen Z generation, breathed new life into the project with their dynamism and creativity.
As soon as the program aired on Ho Chi Minh City Television, the audience who loved “Vietnam Face” gave many compliments to the program’s modern and attractive media publications. Especially in the first season of “Vietnam Face”, with the filming space being the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, the crew took advantage of the unique features of the space and architecture of the building here as the main stage and breathed into this location a simple look with creative designs from haystacks and succulents… Few people know that the owner of these unique ideas is Gen Z guy Ta Dang Khoa.
Graduated in Graphic Design, Ta Dang Khoa with his modern creative thinking has helped television programs break free from old design "standards". Sharing about the inspiration for the project's designs, Ta Dang Khoa said: "In the first season with the theme 'Continuing simple things', my colleagues and I emphasized the harmony between tradition and modernity in each publication and decoration detail on stage. Because I hope that simplicity must be expressed in a subtle, rustic way and touch the audience's emotions in the most natural way".
Young people make the first season of the Face of Vietnam program with the advice of veteran journalists and editors in the profession.
Most recently, the project “Vietnam Face” also caused surprise when it was officially premiered at Cinestar cinema complex before the broadcast. This is also a rare time when a television program is premiered on the big screen. To have these special marks, we must mention the contributions of the 9X guy - Nguyen Cong Vinh. Not only standing behind the artistic films, Cong Vinh also takes on the role of film editor. He shared that in order to have 60 minutes of screening on the big screen, he and his colleagues sat for dozens of hours continuously to ensure the image quality and emotional flow of the program.
It is known that Cong Vinh is a former student of the College of Radio and Television, majoring in Journalism and Communication. Before taking on the role of visual director, Cong Vinh tried his hand at being an editor for a series of popular programs such as “Beautiful Vietnam”, “Gala Nhac Viet”… and achieved certain successes.
“Vietnam Face” is not only a project for young editors and MCs to assert themselves and contribute to the community, but also creates opportunities for young people to try, experience and learn. The production team of the first season of Vietnam Face also includes students from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM. Although young in age and “career experience”, with their enthusiasm, the GenZ members of the project have brought new perspectives.
As an advisor and companion to young people from the early days of the project, journalist, editor, and MC Vo Huynh Tan Tai shared: “The value of the Vietnam Faces project is not only a project to spread inspirational stories in the community but also contributes to forming a GenZ generation - a generation of dynamic reporters, editors, and TV presenters who dare to think and dare to do.
In addition to their professional work, young journalists also know how to make the most of their influence to create good values for society. The most outstanding achievement of this project, in my opinion, is not measured by the scale of the project, nor by the number of views, but it proves that the spirit of kindness and moral values have been spread and are present in the generation of young journalists.
