During the meetings and talks, Vietnamese leaders welcomed President Sulyok Tamás and his wife, along with the high-level Hungarian State delegation, on their official visit to Vietnam.
Vietnamese leaders emphasized that this visit, taking place precisely as the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1950-2025), is an important event that will contribute to a breakthrough in deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of the Vietnam-Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
Vietnamese leaders affirmed that Vietnam always values and wishes to strengthen cooperation with Hungary, a top priority partner and Vietnam's first Comprehensive Partner in the Central and Eastern European region.
President Sulyok Tamás expressed his pleasure at visiting Vietnam for the first time and thanked the Vietnamese leaders for the warm, respectful, and thoughtful welcome extended to the delegation.
Particularly impressed, appreciative, and congratulatory on the great achievements Vietnam has made in the Doi Moi (Renovation) process and international integration, President Sulyok Tamás affirmed that Hungary always considers Vietnam its most important partner in Southeast Asia and wishes to strengthen cooperative relations with Vietnam in all fields.
The leaders of the two countries agreed that it is necessary to strengthen effective cooperation in traditional areas such as defense and security, science and technology, agriculture, medicine, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. At the same time, they emphasized the need to promote expanded cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, information technology, environment, and water resource management.
During the visit, President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás and his wife, attended the opening of an exhibition of photographs of old Vietnam by Hungarian doctor and photographer Bozoky Dezso.
The Hungarian President and his wife took a stroll, admiring the scenery along some streets around Hoan Kiem Lake.
