Attending the conference were comrades: Phuong Thi Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Duy Hung, Standing Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Hoang Thu Trang, Standing Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Standing members of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and 60 prestigious people, village chiefs and typical examples in the whole province.
Over the past 2 years, the work of building and promoting the role of prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced models in the province has always been of interest, directed, and fully implemented by Party committees, authorities at all levels, and sectors.
Bac Kan has 07 districts and 01 city, of which 02 are the most difficult districts: Ngan Son, Pac Nam; 108 communes, wards and towns in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; of which 66 communes are in area III, 07 communes are in area II, 35 communes are in area I and 648 villages are in special difficulty; ethnic minorities account for 88.2% of the population.
Currently, the whole province has 1,271 prestigious people/939 villages, hamlets, and residential groups. The prestigious people are diverse, including retired officials, civil servants, religious dignitaries, intellectuals, teachers, doctors, businessmen, village chiefs, party cell secretaries, village group chiefs, heads of associations, unions, and other groups such as clan heads, party members, and good businesspeople...
The work of building and promoting the role of prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced people in the province has always been of interest, directed, and fully implemented by Party committees, authorities, and sectors. The team of prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced people have made many important contributions to local Party committees and authorities, actively propagating and mobilizing to change and eliminate backward customs; conveying the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State on all aspects of life, economy , and society to the majority of ethnic minorities.
In particular, in the current period, ethnic minority areas have been receiving special attention from the Party and the State in investment and support for programs and policies to develop the socio-economic conditions in mountainous areas and sustainably eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. The programs and projects are approved and supported by the people. In particular, there is a part of contribution and close coordination from prestigious people in ethnic minority areas in the area.
The total cost of implementing policies and regimes for prestigious people in Bac Kan, such as: visiting sick people, distributing newspapers, supporting smartphones, organizing tours, learning experiences... from 2023 to present is nearly 5.8 billion VND.
The presentations at the conference clarified the role and contributions of prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced figures in socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Phuong Thi Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, praised and acknowledged the efforts and contributions of prestigious people, village chiefs, and advanced models in the whole province. She pointed out that Bac Kan organized the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 under many difficult conditions, especially the Covid-19 pandemic, animal diseases and natural disasters that greatly affected socio-economic development.
However, with the spirit of solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties of the entire Party, government, political system and people, Bac Kan has achieved many important results. In that common achievement, there is a significant contribution from prestigious people, village chiefs, and advanced models in ethnic minority areas. This team is a typical nucleus in the work of Party building, socio-economic development, new rural construction, ensuring national defense and security, and consolidating the great national unity bloc.
In the coming time, in parallel with implementing socio-economic tasks and maintaining national defense and security, Bac Kan will continue to promote the merger of commune-level and provincial-level administrative units in accordance with the direction of the Central Government. Therefore, in order to complete the large and difficult workload, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that Party committees, authorities, and political systems at all levels enhance their spirit and responsibility for the assigned tasks. The team of prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced models will further promote their roles and contribute to their homeland in the new situation.
On this occasion, 60 prestigious people, village chiefs, and typical advanced people received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee./.
