Rural traffic route in Yen Duong commune was washed away.
According to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, as of noon on May 18, 4 people had died and 2 people were injured; hundreds of hectares of crops, livestock and many infrastructure works were severely damaged. Specifically, 4 deaths were recorded in Tan Luot village, Dong Phuc commune and Phieng Kham village, Yen Duong commune (Ba Be district); 2 people were injured also in Yen Duong commune. Many houses of the people were eroded and damaged.
Agricultural crops were severely damaged.
In the agricultural sector, many areas of rice, corn, and fragrant green squash in Ba Be district were buried and collapsed (currently being counted). Notably, the flood swept away many livestock in the area; Nhung Luy Cooperative alone suffered heavy losses with 90 cows killed by floodwaters. Sturgeon ponds in Chu Huong and Phieng Phang communes, Yen Duong commune were broken, causing the loss of tons of fish; about 20 hectares of corn and rice in Nam Cuong commune, Cho Don district were also flooded.

Heavy rains and floods also damaged infrastructure systems such as bridges and electric poles, causing them to break, warp, and become unsafe. In addition, Provincial Road 258B has many landslides, causing unsafe conditions for people and vehicles.
Currently, localities and functional forces are actively implementing inspection and damage statistics, and mobilizing forces to overcome the consequences according to the "4 on-site" motto.
According to people in Ba Be district, this is the biggest flood in the past few decades.
