Flash floods cause landslides and traffic jams on DT.257B route, expected to reopen on the afternoon of May 18

BBK - Due to the impact of heavy rain that lasted the night of May 17 and early morning of May 18, a serious landslide occurred on Highway DT.257B from Km24+600 to Km24+800 in Dong Phuc Commune (Ba Be District). Flash floods swept away many large rocks and fallen trees, completely blocking the road.

Heavy rain and flash floods have caused a mass of soil, rocks, and trees to be buried, causing traffic jams on Provincial Road 257B in Dong Phuc Commune (Ba Be).

Immediately after receiving the information, the Bac Kan Department of Transport directed the Bac Kan Traffic Management and Construction Joint Stock Company to deploy remedial measures. Mr. Tran Hieu Chung, Director of the Company said: "We have mobilized 05 excavators and transport vehicles to urgently clear rocks and soil, and relieve congestion at the scene".

On the morning of May 18, leaders of the Department of Construction were present at the scene to inspect and direct the repair work, ensuring smooth traffic. It is expected that by this afternoon (May 18), the road will be reopened to traffic./.
