Connecting trade, promoting consumption of collective economic products

Trade promotion is an important activity for the development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives, especially in the current context of integration and fierce competition. The city's departments and branches have implemented many solutions to support cooperatives in improving their competitiveness, increasing product value and expanding markets.

At the end of March 2025, the City Cooperative Union organized the "1st Cooperative Product Fair - Da Nang 2025" with the participation of 19 cooperative unions from many provinces and cities across the country. The fair gathered more than 20 booths with more than 500 OCOP standard products, typical products of regions and craft villages.

Then, at the end of April 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam Province coordinated to organize an exhibition and introduction of OCOP products, Quang Nam - Da Nang agricultural products in 2025 with more than 100 booths introducing and selling quality agricultural products certified by OCOP of the two localities.

It is expected that in June, the Da Nang Vietnamese Goods Fair 2025 - Honoring OCOP products will take place with more than 250 booths displaying OCOP products of Da Nang city and provinces and cities across the country. According to cooperatives participating in the event, fairs and markets like this not only help promote products of the collective economy and cooperatives but also contribute to increasing brand recognition.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, Director of Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Production and Consumption Service Cooperative (Hoa Vang district) said that the cooperative was supported by city agencies and units to certify VietGAP, build a website, build an ISO 2015 quality management system, QR codes to identify product origins, etc.

“Every time we participate in a promotional event, the cooperative displays, sells and introduces quality vegetable products, with packaging and labels, creates videos and prints many accompanying leaflets to communicate and introduce the products. It is from these participations that the cooperative's safe vegetable brand has gained a foothold in the market. Every year, we supply the market with more than 350 tons of vegetables, tubers and fruits and they are consumed in many units in the city such as: Lotte, Co.opmart, Hoa Tho Textile Supermarket, hospitals, schools and more than 12 stores,” Mr. Tan informed.

According to Mr. Pham Tan Thanh, Director of Hoa Hiep 1 General Production and Trading Cooperative (Lien Chieu District), the fairs are an opportunity for the cooperative to connect with the market, introduce products, expand consumption channels, and seek partners for sustainable development. “We have the opportunity to share business cooperation goals, promote the signing of consumption contracts and investment cooperation between the cooperative and businesses and organizations inside and outside the city. Thanks to that, many high-value economic contracts have been signed, creating jobs and increasing income for members,” said Mr. Thanh.

Through research, many cooperatives have proactively researched and explored to promote their products on social networking platforms through content creation, from production and processing to product consumption.

At the same time, cooperatives focus on improving product quality, traceability and applying technology in production; up to now, more than 70% of cooperatives in the city have applied clean production processes according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; about 20 cooperatives in the area have signed product consumption contracts with supermarket chains Co.opmart, Winmart, Go, Danamart and safe food supermarkets. Bringing cooperative products to e-commerce platforms has changed positively with about 40% of cooperatives registering booths on Shopee, Danangtrade, etc.

In recent times, the City Cooperative Union has implemented many synchronous solutions to accompany the collective economic sector, cooperatives in promoting and consuming products as well as providing training on sales expertise... In 3 years (2023, 2024, 2025), the City Cooperative Union organized 3 cooperative product fairs with the participation of more than 50 cooperative unions from provinces and cities in the country. In 2024, the unit supported more than 50 cooperatives to participate in trade promotion fairs inside and outside the city.

Mr. Pham Cong Chinh, Chairman of the City Cooperative Union, said that in the context of deep economic integration and strong digital transformation, trade promotion, connecting supply and demand and supporting product consumption play a key role in the sustainable development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives. The City Cooperative Union organizes many markets, seminars, connecting supply and demand, supporting cooperatives to access domestic and foreign markets.

Thereby, concretizing propaganda activities, consulting and supporting member cooperatives in restructuring cooperatives, supporting brand building, product packaging design; registering certificates of origin; linking product consumption through cooperation programs signed between the City Cooperative Union and provinces and cities nationwide. “For sustainable development, cooperatives must not only improve production capacity but also proactively adapt to market trends. The City Cooperative Union continues to accompany cooperatives, implementing practical solutions to promote product consumption and enhance the position of the collective economic sector in the market economy. In particular, it is necessary to have the cooperation of all levels, sectors and enterprises to determine the success of this process,” said Mr. Chinh.
