The remaining provinces such as Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh recorded the lowest price of 67,000 VND/kg, while Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, and Tuyen Quang reached 68,000 VND/kg. The Northern market did not record any new price fluctuations this morning, indicating that supply and demand are in a state of balance. The remaining provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, and Soc Trang recorded a price of 73,000 VND/kg. There was no price fluctuation in this morning's session, showing that the Southern market is still vibrant with abundant supply from the Mekong Delta region. The role of the South in the national live hog market continues to be prominent thanks to strong consumption in large cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and high demand for food processing.

On May 22, 2025, Lao Cai is becoming a bright spot in the country's modern agricultural landscape with remarkable progress in high-tech livestock farming. According to Lao Cai Radio and Television, the province is currently proud to own 292 large-scale livestock farms, of which 91 farms meet economic standards with a production value of VND 2 billion or more per year. These figures not only reflect the potential but also affirm Lao Cai's position in pioneering the development of high-quality agriculture.
In particular, Bao Thang district is emerging as a high-tech livestock center of the province. Here, 10 modern livestock facilities have been built, including a breeding sow farm with a scale of more than 500 pigs, seven pig farms with 300 to 2,000 pigs, and two poultry farms with impressive numbers of 10,000 to 20,000 pigs. These farms not only apply advanced technology but also ensure outstanding economic efficiency, contributing to improving the quality of livestock products in the province.
Not stopping there, Lao Cai also made its mark with the trend of shifting to a sustainable livestock farming model. Many farms in the province are actively applying organic and circular livestock farming methods, focusing on biosafety. This is a strategic direction, not only meeting increasingly demanding consumer demands but also protecting the environment, ensuring long-term development.
These efforts have yielded proud results. From 2021 to 2025, Lao Cai's livestock output grew strongly at a rate of over 4.8% per year. This achievement not only helped the province complete the goals in Project 01 of the Provincial Party Committee but also laid a solid foundation for the strategy of developing commodity agriculture until 2030, with a vision towards 2045.
