Binh Dinh commits to creating the most favorable conditions for Syre Group to implement the project.
(BD) - On April 25, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan had a working session and signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation with Syre Group (Sweden) on the polyester fabric recycling complex project. Also attending the signing ceremony were Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Vietnam Johan Ndisi and his colleagues.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung sincerely thanked the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Vietnam for taking the time to attend the meeting and witness the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Syre Group. At the same time, he highly appreciated the strategic decision of Syre Group in choosing Binh Dinh to promote and deploy a large-scale production complex with modern and environmentally friendly technology, in line with the province's green and circular development orientation.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung said that at the recent meeting with the Chairman of Syre Group, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed and highly appreciated Syre's Project. The Prime Minister emphasized that the project is suitable for Binh Dinh's potential, and requested ministries, branches and Binh Dinh province to coordinate closely and create all conditions for Syre Group to quickly and effectively implement this project. The biggest problem of the project is the import of raw fabric, which was also directed by the Prime Minister to be resolved. In the near future, the Central Government will adjust the appropriate mechanism to be able to import raw materials into Vietnam.

Regarding electricity for the project, Binh Dinh is a center for investment and development of renewable energy, so it can meet Syre's needs well. Regarding land, the province currently has many industrial parks, complete infrastructure, cheap land rental prices, and convenient transportation. The attention and consensus from the Central to the local level is a great driving force for the project's success.

The Provincial Party Secretary also informed about the geo-economic position and the potentials and distinct advantages of Binh Dinh, and emphasized that the province maintains '5 readiness', including: readiness in planning, readiness in essential infrastructure, readiness in investment site, readiness in human resources, readiness in administrative reform and support for investors. At the same time, expressing confidence in the prestige, experience, pioneering mission and commitment of the Chairman of Syre Group to the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the Project in Binh Dinh will be implemented quickly and become a symbol of the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Sweden in investing in the development of green industry and circular economy.
“The province will provide maximum support and accompany the Group throughout the project implementation process, ensuring the best conditions for the project to be implemented quickly, effectively, legally and for long-term development,” Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung pledged.

Ms. Susanna Campbell, President of Syre Group, expressed her joy and gratitude for the attention, support and companionship of Binh Dinh province towards the Group in the past time. “Investing in green development and circular development is the direction that Syre is pursuing. The Group's projects not only bring economic benefits but also provide a good living environment in the region. With more than 30 years of research and implementation of investment projects on green economic development and circular economy, the implementation of the Polyester Fabric Recycling Complex Project in Binh Dinh will be a great opportunity for the Group to promote its experience and strengths. Along with the development of cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden, the Group wishes to develop a long-term cooperative relationship with Binh Dinh province,” said Ms. Susanna Campbell.
Providing more information about the Project, Mr. Dennis Nobelius, General Director of Syre Group, said: The project in Binh Dinh is large-scale and uses the most advanced technology currently available for the textile recycling industry. The Group hopes to obtain a license to import raw materials within the next 6 months and the most suitable investment location.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Vietnam Johan Ndisi emphasized that the cooperative relationship between Sweden and Vietnam is increasingly deepening. The two countries are focusing on strategic cooperation in the fields of science and technology, engineering, and trade. Sweden is also focusing on green transformation and digital transformation, and 70 Swedish corporations and enterprises are investing more than 3 billion USD in Vietnam following the above trend.
Discussing further about the progress of the Project, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that the Provincial People's Committee and Syre had many working sessions, discussed and quickly resolved problems related to the project. Notably, on April 23, the Prime Minister received Syre Group, supporting the project. This is the result of the efforts and determination of the province, the consulting unit and the Group. Currently, Binh Dinh is fully prepared and ready with the necessary conditions to serve the projects well, including Syre's project. The province continues to support the Group to quickly resolve legal procedures, especially regarding the import of used clothing and scrap materials.

The head of the provincial government hopes that Syre will quickly deploy the project, properly implement the Prime Minister's direction on investing in developing a circular economy, green economy, protecting the environment, maximizing the use of domestic fabric scrap for recycling in each stage; ensuring the commitment to be a symbolic project of green and circular transformation in the textile industry.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan also hopes that the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Vietnam Johan Ndisi will closely follow and continue to support this project; at the same time, support the province in introducing and inviting Swedish investors to Binh Dinh to learn about and promote investment projects.
Also at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan and Mr. Dennis Nobelius, General Director of Syre Group signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation for the polyester fabric recycling complex project with a capacity of about 250 thousand tons/year with a total estimated investment of 1 billion USD, an area of about 20 hectares; the project is expected to be operational by 2028.
