On June 23, information from the Standing Office of the Binh Dinh Province Disaster Prevention and Control Command said that SAR 631 approached fishing boat BD 96774-TS with a paralyzed crew member to provide intensive treatment and urgently transport the victim to the mainland for further emergency care.

It is expected that at around 1:00 a.m. on June 24, the ship will arrive at the wharf of the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II.

Previously, at 1:15 p.m. on June 21, fishing boat number BD 96774-TS, over 21m long, 500CV capacity, owned and captained by Mr. Phan Minh Phu (residing in Tam Quan Bac ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province), while operating in the sea area about 469 nautical miles northeast of Da Nang city, crew member Nguyen Luy (born in 1971, residing in Tam Quan Nam ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province) suddenly became paralyzed on the right side of his body and could not eat or drink.

According to the doctor's diagnosis, crew member Luy likely suffered a stroke in the 5th hour and needed to be taken to shore for emergency treatment. Faced with the situation, the captain quickly brought the ship ashore.

The Standing Office of the Binh Dinh Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control issued Document No. 060/VPTT-PCTT dated June 21 requesting the Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee to support and take urgent rescue measures for the crew member in distress on fishing boat BD 96774-TS.

At about 10:57 a.m. on June 23, SAR 631 approached fishing vessel BD 96774-TS and transferred crew member Luy to the ship for intensive treatment by medical staff.

At this time, crew member Luy fell into a state of drowsiness, slow communication, unable to speak, crooked mouth, and incontinence./.
