Strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and El Salvador

Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai emphasized that the Vietnam-El Salvador relationship is built on a foundation of history, respect and common interests, and Vietnam is constantly promoting relations with El Salvador on three pillars.

On the morning of November 21 (local time), Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico and El Salvador Nguyen Van Hai presented the letter of credentials of President Luong Cuong to Vice President of El Salvador Felix Ulloa, thereby clearly demonstrating Vietnam's desire to continuously promote the traditional friendship with the Central American country.

Speaking at the ceremony held in the capital San Salvador, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai conveyed the respectful greetings of Vietnamese leaders to the Government and people of El Salvador, emphasizing that the Vietnam-El Salvador relationship is built on a foundation of history, respect and common interests, and affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of constantly promoting relations with El Salvador on three pillars including Party diplomacy, state diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy.

Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai highly appreciated the socio -economic development achievements that El Salvador has achieved in recent times, especially in improving the investment environment, stabilizing the macro economy and improving people's lives. Over the past 3 years, El Salvador has become a model in the region in suppressing organized crime and is currently one of the safest countries in Latin America.

Affirming that Vietnam is ready to continue expanding cooperation with El Salvador in many fields, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai suggested that the two sides increase delegation exchanges at all levels to strengthen political trust, promote the consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries, and promote the completion of the legal framework for trade and investment.

In addition, the Ambassador said that people-to-people exchange and enhanced cultural and educational cooperation are important pillars to build sustainable relations, and announced that Vietnam has applied e-visas for El Salvador citizens to promote tourism, trade and human resource connection.

For his part, Vice President of El Salvador Felix Ulloa conveyed his friendly greetings to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, and congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai on his appointment as Ambassador to El Salvador and wished him a successful term of office, thereby contributing to the continued development of Vietnam-El Salvador relations.

Expressing his admiration for the past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as the achievements of the renovation cause initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice President Félix Ulloa hoped that the two sides would continue to promote and strengthen cooperation in many fields, especially in the context of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and El Salvador (January 16, 2010 - January 16, 2025).

According to Vice President Félix Ulloa, Vietnam and El Salvador are both Pacific Rim countries, in the same stage of development and have many similarities in socio-economic development orientation, thereby opening up many opportunities for the two countries to strengthen cooperation for common interests./.
