On April 25, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and Syre Group (Sweden) signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation for the polyester fabric recycling complex project. The project has a total investment capital of about 1 billion USD, a scale of 20 hectares, a capacity of 250,000 tons/year and is expected to be operational by the end of 2028.
The project aims to build a large-scale complex specializing in recycling textile waste into polyester fibers, making Vietnam the first global center for circular textiles, applying high technology that meets US and EU standards.
At the signing ceremony, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung said that the locality has many industrial parks that have been fully invested in and have abundant clean land funds, and investors can start construction at any time when they have a license. The locality also committed to providing high-quality human resources to serve the project.

According to Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan, Sweden is a country with advanced technology, especially in the fields of recycling and environmental protection. Therefore, the locality is ready to support Syre Group to remove legal difficulties related to importing raw materials.
However, Mr. Tuan requested Syre Group to properly implement its commitments on developing a circular economy , green economy, environmental protection and prioritizing the use of domestic scrap sources for recycling, implementing in specific stages.
Ms. Susanna Campbell, President of Syre Group, said that with more than 30 years of research and implementation of investment projects to develop green economy and circular economy, the implementation of the polyester fabric recycling complex project in Binh Dinh is a great opportunity for the group to promote its experience and strengths.
In the context of the increasingly developing Vietnam - Sweden relationship, Syre Group expressed its desire to establish a sustainable and long-term cooperative relationship with Binh Dinh province.
