Politburo establishes new Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Politburo has just issued a decision to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee under the Central Executive Committee of the Party.

The new Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee includes party organizations and party members from the Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Party Committees.

Specifically, the Politburo established the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee under the Central Party Executive Committee, on the basis of merging the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Binh Duong Province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The new Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee includes party organizations and party members from the Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong , and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Party Committees.

The functions, tasks and organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee are prescribed by the Politburo.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant Party committees, agencies and organizations to direct the implementation of arrangement, transfer and reception of Party organizations and Party members; arrangement of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; arrangement of working offices, management of finance, assets, records, documents, collection and submission of seals and other issues after the merger.

The above decision takes effect from July 1.

On June 12, the National Assembly passed a resolution on the arrangement of provincial administrative units, reducing the number of provinces and cities from 63 to 34. Eleven provinces and cities will remain the same, including: Hanoi, Thua Thien Hue city, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Cao Bang.
