With the motto of prioritizing schools, offices, and medical stations so that these units can operate again after the flood, the forces of Military Region 5 sent troops to the most flooded areas to focus on cleaning up.
In Tuy An Dong commune, Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen ) - one of the places most severely affected by the flood on the night of November 19, 100 soldiers of Regiment 95 (Division 2, Military Region 5) have been arriving in recent days to clear mud and rebuild the village.
Senior Lieutenant Nong Thanh Hieu, security assistant of Regiment 95, said the soldiers set up camp on the spot to focus on helping the people.
Since the morning of November 23, officers and soldiers have begun to clean up mud and debris at An Thach Kindergarten. The school has almost completely destroyed all of its furniture, equipment, and children's learning materials. The schoolyard and classrooms are also flooded with mud and rubbish from various places.
When the flood had just receded, teachers visited the school and saw the mess and couldn't help but worry about how long it would take to fix it so the children could return to class.
But all worries disappeared, smiles appeared on the faces of the cadres and teachers when they saw the troops arriving.
With the soldiers, the school will be cleaned faster and the children will return to class soon. The school will be filled with laughter again.
According to statistics, the recent flood left 17 schools, 3 medical stations, and 10 cultural houses in Tuy An Dong in ruins and mud.
