Recently (afternoon of August 21), due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, in Yen Binh commune, Lang Son province, the water level of rivers and streams rose, combined with water from upstream causing flooding in many villages and hamlets.

Talking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Dam Than Hung, Head of Warehouse 671, said that upon receiving a request from the locality and implementing the direction of the head of the Petroleum Department (General Department of Logistics and Engineering), the unit directed officers and soldiers of Warehouse 79 (Warehouse 671), directly commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Lieu, Political Commissar of the Warehouse, to coordinate with the people of the villages of Lang Trang, Dong Xa and Quy Xa of Yen Binh commune (Lang Son province) to move many assets to escape the flood.

Commander of Warehouse 79 and Warehouse 671 deployed the mission to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

With a sense of urgency and responsibility, on the night of August 21, dozens of officers and soldiers of Warehouse 79 coordinated with the people to safely move the assets of 6 households, including: Nearly 9 tons of rice and corn, 4 tons of phosphate fertilizer, 3 tons of groceries and many household items and equipment such as tables, chairs, cabinets, televisions, etc. to a safe place. By 11:15 p.m. the same day, the mission was completed, and the entire force returned to the unit in absolute safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Dam Than Hung shared: “We always consider helping people as an order from the heart. Officers and soldiers are not only soldiers guarding the oil pipeline, but also friends and children in the hearts of the people. Whenever the locality is in difficulty or has a natural disaster, the soldiers are immediately present to share and help.”

It is known that in 2024, Warehouse 671 participated in building local political bases in 5 ethnic minority communes; participated in socio-economic development with a total of 184 working days; organized visits and gifts for policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, war invalids, sick soldiers, poor households in the area where the unit was stationed on holidays, Tet and the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day. The unit carried out mass mobilization work to serve the construction of the historical relic of the starting point of the oil pipeline during the resistance war against the US to save the country in Con Hang village, Bao Lam commune, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province (now Dong Dang commune, Lang Son province). In the first 6 months of 2025, the Warehouse organized visits and New Year greetings to 30 policy families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers on the occasion of holidays and Tet; general cleaning and visiting martyrs' cemeteries...

Warehouse 671 participates in the work of disseminating and educating the law, mobilizing people to comply with the law.

Mass mobilization activities contribute to consolidating and strengthening military-civilian solidarity, improving the quality and effectiveness of coordination, and gaining the trust of local Party committees, authorities, and people.

According to Colonel Tran Van Duy, Political Commissar of the Warehouse, closely following the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Warehouse commander and the guidance of the superior professional agency, in the past time, the Warehouse has built and effectively implemented the mass mobilization work plan. The political agency and political commissars of the sub-warehouses and battalions in the Warehouse have promoted their advisory role well; proactively improved and fostered professional skills and methods of conducting mass mobilization work for comrades in charge of mass mobilization work, mass mobilization work groups and team members. During the implementation process, the agencies and units have closely coordinated with the Party Committee, local authorities, unions, and twinned units in carrying out mass mobilization work. Currently, the unit is twinned with 4 commune youth organizations and schools in the stationed area; effectively coordinating to carry out mass mobilization work during holidays and Tet.

Mass mobilization activities contribute to the successful implementation of the unit's political tasks, especially in performing well the tasks of receiving, distributing, preserving, and managing gasoline, technical equipment and gasoline materials; at the same time, strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people in the area.
