Eliminate combination C00: Ministry of Education requires not to affect candidates' rights

On June 6, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Document No. 2864/BGDĐT-GDĐH, signed by Director of the Department of Higher Education Nguyen Tien Thao, on reviewing and announcing enrollment information for university and college levels in Early Childhood Education.

Accordingly, in recent days, the press and candidates have reported that some universities have announced incomplete enrollment information, with some information changing, causing anxiety and passivity among candidates.

In order to provide complete and accurate information on enrollment in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training requires schools to comply with the regulations and instructions on enrollment. Schools must review the methods and combinations of enrollment that are appropriate to the programs, majors, and groups of training majors for each method to ensure fairness; not affecting the rights of candidates, especially at the present time when candidates have completed registration for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. Schools must be responsible for explaining any changes related to the methods and combinations of enrollment.

In addition, data used for admission such as: 2025 high school graduation exam scores, graduation candidates' academic results, competency assessment test scores, thinking assessment test scores... provided by relevant units on the system must comply with the regulations in the admission regulations.

Previously, on June 4, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced on its website information on regular university admissions in 2025. Accordingly, the school stopped considering admission group C00 (including Literature, History, Geography) for 17 majors and only considered admission group C00 for 9 out of a total of 28 majors/training programs.

The Capital University also announced to stop enrolling in the C00 combination in 2025 with 11 majors; the Law University, Hanoi National University stopped enrolling in the C00 combination while in 2024 this combination occupied the largest quota when enrolling in the Law major. The Academy of Journalism and Communication also officially removed the C00 combination from the university admission list this year. Last year, this combination was used to enroll in the History major, specializing in the History of the Communist Party of Vietnam ...

This incident has made many candidates and parents worried and anxious because they cannot apply for their desired major./.
