The achievements of the capital's education are reflected in many fields, typically: the network of schools has been expanded, spacious, and basically meets diverse learning needs, from improving people's knowledge to nurturing talents.

Hanoi has not only succeeded in effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program but also maintained and improved the quality of mass education, maintained its leading position in the country in key education, and made breakthroughs in digital transformation and application of science and technology... According to the Minister of Education and Training, the urgent requirement of the Capital Education is to increase the number of general schools, especially high-quality high schools. The current competition is mainly to get into good schools, not to compete for a place to study.

"Therefore, expanding and improving the uniform quality of the school system will be a fundamental solution, both reducing unnecessary pressure and stress of the 10th grade entrance exam and ensuring a quality learning environment for all students," the Minister emphasized.

One of the other requirements set by the education sector commander for Hanoi is to be exemplary and pioneer in comprehensive student development; effectively organize the second class to improve the quality of education and skills education for students.

In particular, it is necessary to strictly control extra teaching and learning, and resolutely end all forms of this activity to ensure a healthy learning environment and reduce unnecessary learning pressure for students and their families.

Referring to the role of a locomotive and exemplary model to lead and support education nationwide, Mr. Son said that Hanoi's education must be concretized with practical support programs for disadvantaged areas, especially the rotation and training of teachers, providing high-quality digital resources, to narrow the educational gap and together improve the quality of education. "The capital must continue its mission of spreading good values," he said.

Minister Son also requested Hanoi to consider universities and colleges in the area as strategic resources and knowledge centers of the capital. With the viewpoint that "training and research of universities and colleges is training and research for Hanoi", the City needs to have a mechanism to care for and comprehensively support these facilities.

He expects that the Capital’s education system will be a high-standard, exemplary and top-quality education system, training citizens who are not only good at their profession and fluent in foreign languages, but also have deep cultural knowledge, high social responsibility, and know how to live happily for themselves and the community. They must be digital-age citizens, with high cultural qualities and capacity in science, technology and digital transformation.

To meet the requirements, Hanoi needs to effectively implement cultural education and cultural education, thereby building schools into places where teachers and students are models of elegance and modernity.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, dedication, and contributions of the teaching staff and wished them to always respect, be passionate, enthusiastic, and happy with their profession.

Teachers in the capital need to be elegant and modern role models to create future generations of students. The elegance of teachers is reflected in their exemplary and serious behavior, guiding students to learn, explore and master technology, becoming comprehensive digital citizens, capable of creating and adapting in the new stage of development.

Hanoi education must stand shoulder to shoulder with the world

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that up to now, the city has a total of 2,954 kindergartens and general schools with more than 2.3 million students. Last year, Hanoi built and put into operation 43 new schools of all levels.

Hanoi students lead the country in the National Excellent Student Competition with 200 students winning prizes; won 6 prizes at the national science and technology research competition; 18 students won prizes at international excellent student competitions; and were the final champions of the 25th Road to Olympia Competition.

Organize the safety of entrance exams and admissions at the beginning of the school year and avoid queuing to submit application documents and draw lots for admission to public schools.

Besides the achievements, Mr. Cuong also frankly acknowledged some limitations such as: The quality of staff and teachers between inner-city and suburban schools is still different; there is still a local surplus or shortage of teachers; there is a lack of schools in densely populated areas; school violence and food safety in schools in some places still occur.

According to Mr. Cuong, the sector will deploy many solutions to achieve the goal of building Hanoi into a truly large, representative center of the country in high-quality education and training, adapting to digital transformation, innovation and international integration, and becoming a global learning city. The Capital's Education Sector must be the leading unit, standing shoulder to shoulder with the education systems in Southeast Asia and the world.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son presented the Government's Excellent Emulation Flag to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
