Programming becomes the career path of many students

Programming is becoming a new choice for many young people. Not only does it expand job opportunities, this field also helps them catch up with the digital age.

Nowadays, programming is not only one of the industries with high recruitment demand, but also an open profession, regardless of age or starting point, everyone can start learning and developing their career.

The story of two students, Nguyen Hong Son (“Starting to learn programming from zero”) and Nguyen Quang Huy (IT student learning more about programming to improve skills) is proof that with effort in studying and practical practice, success in the technology industry will be achieved.

Nguyen Hong Son: Learning programming is a profitable "investment"

After just over a year and a half of working, Nguyen Hong Son – a Gen Z guy with no technology background, was able to pay back all the tuition that his parents had paid for him.

Currently, Son is working as a freelance web interface developer for Alpha Bravo Development. Few people know that a few years ago, he had almost no concept in the field he was working in.

“I’m not good at math, and I’ve never learned programming. After hearing my sister talk about how people create websites or applications many times, I got curious and wanted to try it,” Son shared.

During the first days of studying at Aptech International Programmer Training System at 19 Le Thanh Nghi, Son also had to spend a lot of time studying the exercises.

But thanks to the practical learning program, I quickly understood and applied the knowledge.

Nguyen Hong Son shared his memories: “After each semester, we will defend a project. The project completion in semesters 2 and 3, about games and building an e-commerce website, took us the most effort. The whole group spent nearly a month discussing, researching errors, and then making many adjustments to make the product run smoothly.”

Those study projects helped Son have the opportunity to work early in the third semester. When he had a stable income, he paid back the tuition fee to his parents.

“At first, I thought it would take 2-3 years to complete my goal, but thanks to my own efforts and the knowledge I learned, I have an income and can help my family. This is a milestone for me to continue to develop and see that I have chosen the right major,” Son said.

Looking back at the past, I think that "starting from zero" is not too big an obstacle, the important thing is to maintain a spirit of perseverance and proactive learning.

“Programming requires logical thinking and patience. With the right learning attitude, you will progress every day and have a decent career opportunity and income,” said Nguyen Hong Son.

Nguyen Quang Huy: Accumulating practical experience since school

If Nguyen Hong Son chose to start his technology journey from "zero", Nguyen Quang Huy has a different direction: studying IT at university and programming at Aptech 19 Le Thanh Nghi to soon have a stable job. He is currently a Backend Developer at VTI Technology Company.

Right from the first years of university, Huy realized that although the knowledge in the classroom was basic, there was still a certain gap with the requirements of businesses.

“The programming industry requires practical skills and the ability to flexibly apply programming languages. Therefore, I found an additional practical training program to supplement the missing part,” Huy shared.

Thanks to the flexible schedule, Huy studied at school during the day and learned programming in the evening. As his knowledge gradually became more solid, by the second semester, he was taking on small projects and starting to work in the field of software development.

Nguyen Quang Huy decided to study at Aptech to gain more practical experience.

“Because I studied the practical training program on 31 programming languages early on, I have a better understanding of how a project operates and how to write code according to customer requirements, which is something that I rarely have the opportunity to experience in theory classes,” Huy said.

Participating in projects during his studies also helped Huy practice teamwork, problem-solving and progress management skills – necessary skills when entering the corporate environment.

Thanks to that, when I go to work, I don’t have to spend much time getting used to the job. Studying in parallel is not a pressure, but a way to proactively grasp career opportunities sooner.

Nguyen Quang Huy said: “I feel like I made the right choice. Because I didn’t wait until I graduated to start, I gained experience and a stable income much earlier than my peers.”

Programming continues to be one of the fastest growing fields and has a high demand for recruitment. However, to truly be a solid professional, students need to be equipped with knowledge and practical application skills.

On the website aptechvietnam.com.vn, the key factors to succeed in the programming industry are proactively mastering the latest technology knowledge; Studying to meet business requirements, instead of just looking at scores. Importantly, accumulating experience for yourself through real projects.

This "formula" was also tried and true by Nguyen Hong Son and Nguyen Quang Huy and brought success in their career development.
