This afternoon, August 30, the working delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology led by the Party Central Committee member, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat worked with Quang Ngai province on the situation of science, technology and innovation activities serving the goals of economic and social development. Receiving and working with the delegation, on the side of the leaders of Quang Ngai province were the Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan and leaders of departments and branches.
Reporting to the working delegation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan said that in recent times, science, technology and innovation activities of Quang Ngai province have always closely followed the guidelines, policies and regulations of the Party, Government and Central agencies. From 2021 to present, the province has implemented 50 science and technology tasks. Through technology appraisal, investors have invested in new technology and equipment, contributing to limiting environmental pollution, reducing fuel consumption, improving productivity and product quality, gradually approaching the 4th Industrial Revolution. Innovative start-up activities and building an innovative start-up ecosystem have developed. State management activities on quality measurement standards are increasingly focused. The management, inspection and examination of compliance with legal regulations on standards, measurement, quality, industrial property, and radiation safety are focused on, promptly detecting and strictly handling violating establishments. In 2023, the province's Local Innovation Index (PII) reached 37.80 points, ranking 26th out of 63 provinces and cities. Quang Ngai also proposed that the Ministry of Science and Technology support the province in carrying out 2-3 scientific and technological tasks each year. Prioritize tasks of transferring high technology, digital technology , and biotechnology in post-harvest preservation and processing. Support resources in terms of experts, training programs, learning experiences at home and abroad, and support the establishment of intellectual property rights abroad to develop the province's key products.
Representatives of the leaders of the agencies and units under the Ministry of Science and Technology exchanged, discussed and basically answered the recommendations of the province. Proposed key solutions that the province needs to focus on in science, technology and innovation activities.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang said that science, technology and innovation activities in the province have made many efforts, however, there are still many limitations and shortcomings that need to be addressed to promote more strongly in the coming time. The Department of Science and Technology continues to do a good job in consulting and researching, has many creative activities, and applies science and technology with specific products. Quang Ngai also hopes that the Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to consider and support the province in implementing science, technology and innovation programs, promoting more in-depth development.

In order for Quang Ngai to become a fairly developed province in the Central region and the whole country, the province will focus its attention and invest systematically and systematically in scientific research and technology applied to production and business and promote the movement of innovative startups. Improve the capacity of research, transfer, and application of science and technology to serve economic and social development. Continue to promote the development of the creative and innovative startup ecosystem in the province, develop the market, science and technology enterprises, organize the implementation of solutions to improve and enhance the local Innovation Index.
During his working trip to Quang Ngai province, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat donated 200 million VND to the Fund for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the province. Provincial Party Secretary Bui Thi Quynh Van presented souvenirs to Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and the working delegation.
