The concentrated IT park will transform Binh Duong from a traditional industrial production center to a production and research system focused on high technology and innovation.
On the morning of November 1, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications held a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and leaders of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to find solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of establishing the Concentrated Information Technology Park (IT Park) of Binh Duong province.
According to the report submitted by the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to the Government on the establishment of Binh Duong Concentrated Information Technology Park, this Concentrated Information Technology Park is expected to be located in Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province.
Binh Duong Concentrated Information Technology Park is planned in the first phase with a total area of about 15.47 hectares. Implementation time is from 2024 - 2030.
Binh Duong IT Concentrated Zone is developed on the basis of linking the entire Southeast region, taking advantage of and promoting the potential advantages of the locality to create mutual impact, spreading the development of IT industry for the whole region. This will be the place to focus on developing key areas such as IT, biotechnology, new material technology and environmental technology.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, taking advantage of the province's strategic geographical location and over 25 years of industrial foundation to develop a science and technology ecosystem is the most optimal choice for a new growth model.
This will promote the province's transformation from a traditional industrial production center to a high-tech, innovation-focused production and research system.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the application for establishing a concentrated IT Industrial Park in Binh Duong.
Leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications and representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment listened to opinions from Binh Duong province on the need to speed up the implementation progress, but still ensure compliance with procedures and relevant legal regulations, especially regulations on environmental impact assessment reports.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized the importance of complying with current legal regulations, and expressed support for Binh Duong province's efforts in developing a concentrated IT industrial park.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong has directed relevant units to continue working with Binh Duong province to complete the appraisal dossier. The parties have agreed to closely coordinate to review the dossier and find appropriate solutions to remove obstacles.
It is expected that in the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications, Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will have more working sessions to discuss in detail the next steps.
Through discussion, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, said that Binh Duong province will follow the instructions of the Ministry of Information and Communications on preparing documents to establish a concentrated IT park.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, in recent years, the Binh Duong economic region in particular and the Southeast region in general are facing many challenges, geopolitical fluctuations and the exhaustion of traditional development space.
Investing in science and technology is not only the optimal choice but also the only solution to create sustainable development for Binh Duong, helping to improve competitiveness and adapt to changes in the global market. Planning a science and technology ecosystem in Binh Duong is therefore not only a strategic step, but also an urgent requirement to meet new trends.
